TINTED TAILLIGHTS!

Well it was pretty basic, I put half of my car into my garage and i left the taillights on the car, and i taped all around it and put paper...i went to a local hobby shop that sold plastic tinting spray each can cost $5, i just used 1 and a half cans of the tint using 5-6 coats 20 min between each coat and then 2 coats of gloss..after all that left it in the garage for 4 hours and took off the paper and it was perfect and i also took off the yaris and toyota badges just with a normal blow dryer

Reverse lights are good you see everything, bcuz i drive around with my lights on 24/7 anyways so that helps

mine are already smoked, with 2 coats, most cops (at least here in MI & OH) Don't so much care about headlight/taillight covers or smoking

I am also Blacking out as much as possible, Everything around my radio is black, Wheels are being painted black right after x-mas, I am smoking my tails & side markers darker today, once it gets warmer I am finally going to do do Hashers headlight mod in all black

on my previuos car these so called tints wear off during the elements, rain , snow etc.... i understand i should have used a clearcoat also, did you clearcoat yours (or is this the gloss you mention?)

You might want to check, that kind of tinting is illegal up here in N.Florida

Well guys I live in miami, FL and its known for asshole cops and yesterday as a matter of fact a cop was right behind me for 5 min (yes i was shitting myself) he didnt even do anythin i got out of his way and he went behind a srt-4 with blacked out tail lights like mine...and i have 5% tints everywhere but its really up to the cop down here cops have to give at least 4 tickets a day so if u are caught in that quota im sry for you..

I think here in Broward county have more of a quarterly quota ;).
In any case, I don't think I'll find matching "tint" for my meteorite metallic :S. It would be sick though :D.

u got pics?? haha, im not taking any pics till i finish my exhaust! and i aint finishing my exhaust till i get my headers! and im not gonna install my headers till i install my intake!! lol.. i really should take my tools home from work so i can install my intake.... maybe this weekend

I have a few pix... what do you want to see? BTW spray tint in the cold, not a good idea, I had to pull all my tint off my tails, I am back to regular ones again :thumbdown: maybe I just need a better quality spray... any sugestions?
