Fog lights won't turn off

Hi everyone,

I noticed yesterday that the fog lights on my 2007 Toyota Yaris won't turn off. The problem is, they're not even turned on! The switch is off, has been for who knows how long, so the lights came on by themselves and won't turn off at all.

Anything I can do besides/before going to the mechanic?

The fog light relay may be stuck. Try removing it, tapping it on a hard surface and then putting it back in. If that works, then you will want to replace the relay, as once the contacts get fused they become prone to doing so again.

In this picture the fog light relay is not installed, but would be in the socket on the right hand side, that hangs off of the under dash fuse panel:
