so my yaris turns 3 at the end of the month and im taking it in tuesday for the pesky clutch squeaking problem (so its documented before its leaves warranty - - i've already had it "fixed" twice)

they want to charge me $99 to look over the car to see if there are any problems that can be fixed under warranty.....but i doubt it worth it.

are there any problem areas i should look at for warranty sake before i bid adieu to my comprehensive warranty?

a/c is the only area because most everything else as you know is going to be wear and tear at this point......brakes, locks, window motors ( if you have them ), etc....

The rear hatch lift supports and the battery.

lol, if i had a/c, power locks or power windows it'd be worth looking at

brakes are practically new with echo_hrs's old calipers....

The rear hatch lift supports and the battery.

right, the rear hatch supports....i might mention that to them....i had the same problem in my matrix, but replacing them just prolonged the inevitable suckage of more oem ones

ill have them look at the battery...

You could likely go to Parts Source or Napa and get a free load test done on your battery before visiting the stealership. No point in paying them to tell you it's fine.

Hatch supports; do you mean the black gas rods? Do they fail quickly?
Mike seem fine.....

that is a wear and tear part....unless you know how to make a cell go bad....

and damnit how did I know you had a bare bones model? lol

I would say then:
- waterpump weepage possibly (unless you have the after market pulleys, you might even get away with having aftermarket pulleys)

- any of the black plastic outer body parts (like the side-view mirror area) warped/shifted/creaking/loose? we had the one in front of the mirror assembly replaced, the one that looks like a 'D' ; clips were very loose

- underbody rust?

- any of the interior panels shifting or creaking....they can install a foam kit or two....

the ones in the wife's car spouted internal leaks no oil on the pistons (i.e. they would raise the hatch halfway and you had to lift it the rest of the way up...)

$99 aint that expensive if they find something thats going to fail in the near future.

Wish i they had offered me that for my car. I say the alternator, and the abs speed sensors.
