I was in the market for Honda Fit..

but I like the Yaris' Sedan's looks much better and also like the lower price.

I test drove the Fit and loved it's zippy driving, something Yaris lacks..

Some Fit owners are saying they're getting higher MPG's than sticker, so just wanted to see what Yaris owners are getting actual real world city/highway MPG, thanks...

Also I'm looking at 2007 used sedan Yaris - do you suggest I get 2008 or 09 if there were any major changes?

Just about everyone beats EPA estimates.

Of course it depends on many variables, mainly based on city vs highway. If you do 90%+ highway, you can easily expect 38+ MPG even averaging 75 MPH. If you're jammed in NY city, don't expect to beat the sticker.

Either way, it beats the Fit.

I would just go for the '07. This will be your cheapest route and the only difference for '08 was tire pressure monitoring which a lot of people are annoyed by. '09 just saw a new grill, new colors, newly re-styled S packages (body kits).

Definitely opt for the 07. It will weigh less and get better MPG and there's no important differences so far between the 07,08, or 09 unless you really think you need traction control or ABS in a car with 100HP

You can get in the upper 40's and lower-mid 50's with the Yaris. This is all dependent to various factors. Road conditions, city vs highway driving, weather, and terrain. Physical factors of less car weight and upping the tire pressure can help. But, what it really boils down to is driving style... hypermiling for gaining great FE!

I've never gotten less than sticker rated MPG... my lowest tank was 33mpg I think, I average over 40mpg for the life of the car. In summers my tanks hover around 43-46mpg depending on how much highway driving I do.

Always better. Only differences are higher tire pressures and regular oil treatment with Molybdenum.

Based on what I've seen, 95% of the population need those... :bs:

The 09 has side air bag curtains. I know it adds some weight, but it is a safety option that is well worth the additional weight.

Around 45 mpg easily, almost all highway but I drive through the Appalachians to get to work and back.
