Hey Guys,
I went to my very first Driver’s Education (aka. HPDE) event with PCA (Porsche Car Club of America) at Homestead Motor Speedway. I had a total blast and learned a lot about myself and my car.
At the end of the day my instructor had told me that I am a very fast learner. In addition, he told me that I was running the car at 95-98% in the third session and the car had been in situations (twice in turn 10, aka the most dangerous turn on the track) where the car had no more to give, although it was still in safe grounds of my ability.
There was one incident where a beautiful Porsche 911 RS was totaled in turn 10 and was a very good example of what happens if you mess up there. This was at the end of my second session which was cut off short about 9 minutes.
All in all, I was promoted from Green group to Blue group. I am very happy with the day’s outcome. After reviewing my video footage I have found that in my third session I was averaging around 2:12 +/- 1 second.
