Hey Guys,

Well I've had my pre-loved '05 Yaris YRX for a few weeks now and am loving driving it everywhere.

But one thing I noticed was taking away from the 'feel' of really driving this car. It felt so dam high! While driving along looking at other small cars and even sedans my little Yaris felt like a Mini 4WD compared to these cars, my ride height was much higher than many cars on the road. I guess this is to give the average driver a better position to see the road and feel safer...but it's not my style. It just feels like the car is going to tip over if I take a corner...I like the feeling of being connected to the road...not sitting a ridiculous height above it!

So I got some lowering springs installed with the stock struts and all I can say is WOW. It feels like a completely different car...it feels much sportier and 'right' for the size/shape of the Yaris. I've gone from driving a Mini-Van to a Mini-Sports-Coupe!

I feel SO much safer and confident with the cars position on the road now. A highly recommended install for both safety, performance and handling. Plus the fact the stock 15' YRX wheels look a lot nicer in the wheel arches now!

Next step is some strut/sway bars to tighten the feel and it will be even better...Lovin it. No more moon buggy, bus driving, granny looking Yaris. Low is the GO!

Will post some pics if I get any interest in the thread

Cheers,
Dan

Just took some quick photos to show the '05 Yaris YRX with it's new lower King Springs. The stock 15" wheels really fill the wheel arch much nicer now. Sorry but I don't have any before photos.

Just debadged the back before the wash & polish today too. Looks nice. Think I might keep the 'YRX' emblem for somewhere else though

Cheers!

Hi dan

my yaris look like that when i got it from the dealer (new), had the same mags as well, it looks just right, u can go lower since there is no spoiler to get damaged, now when are the big wheels coming,

the rear does look much bigger when there is no badges,

Yeah looking out for some nice black/gunmetal 16" rims, don't want to go any bigger I think.

The wheel arch gap was twice as big before! So it must've been pretty bloody high to begin with. Feels so much different though.

I didn't want it dropped to the ground completely... just to give it more stability and fill out the wheel arches which it has done nicely.

If I put in better aftermarket shocks will that lower the car anymore?

Thanks guys,
Dan

Hey mate not sure about NSW laws as I'm in QLD. Pretty sure you still need a 10cm clearance up her though.

I got them installed at a suspension shop for $545.
