I really dont care what people say, bcuz everyone has there own style from racing to just having the car deck out, its your world and everyone is intitled to their opinions, but as long as they dont say that the car looks wack then I have to run them over a few times to get the job done J/K lol

I don't really care... I mean, I certainly appreciate compliments and advice/constructive criticism, but when people ask me why I spent so much money on a Yaris when I could have bought a bigger car, that's when I don't care :laugh:

I have the most bada** offroad vehilce ever put together 'stock' also,
and those 2 vehicles, the Yaris and 99 4runner, are purpose-purchased specifically
for what they can and cannot do.

cars to me are not status symbols or about 'image'.

a nice set of fat quads and calves from bike racing is my 'image'

I suppose those who care about the Yaris 'image' ...I don't wanna

On the way to work today, a person driving a nice GTI flagged me down and gave me a big thumbs up and looked my car over a few times. Its all about respect around here and if you respect a "car guy" then you will get respect if you want it or not.

That's interesting. Clearly people care because these threads keep popping up ("people say my Yaris is "cute" :cry: etc...)

I don't care because my ex was constantly complaining about my old CRX and how it was dangerous, and unreliable, and this or that... and I should buy this or that instead... :rolleyes: so over the years I got so used to it ... now I'm immune to any comments about my car except compliments ;) :biggrin:

One time some lady at the grocery store's parking lot told me "hey that's really fire engine red" like it's a bad thing, and I said "oh yes, that's what we use in the Fire Department to go get groceries, can't drive the engine up here" and she didn't know if I was joking or not... I get a few snide comments now and then but mostly compliments.

I don't really care, but I don't like it when people call it cute (might be a guy thing, not sure). It doesn't make sense if people call a car "gay", and I find it offensive since I have gay friends. And I like the look of people's faces when I tell them that I've gotten 53 mpg before. lmao!

+1 on this. And on the scale of 1-10 of how much I care I'd say I'm about a negative 4.
I didnt buy this car to be fast, I have a motorcycle for that.
I didnt buy it to go off road, I have a truck for that.
I bought it because I wanted a fuel efficient car that wasnt a Honda. No offense to people who own a Honda (my bike is a Honda). I just wanted to be completely different from all the people around here who think they're the most amazing thing driving around a Civic or 240sx that looks exactly like the one next to them or has the exact same mods.

Hmmm I havent really had any negative comments other than "wow its small" . I don't really care about what people think about it but on the other hand I love to show off all my lil DIY projects that I've done... the one thing that annoys me is when people dont know what a Yaris is!

I'm 41 years old. I couldn't possibly care any less about what others think of my car. Honestly though...I've not experienced any hate. Those that comment on my car seem to like it.

Besides, does anyone remember the old Hyundai commercial where the chicks equate cheap cars with not having the need to "make up for something men may be lacking"? Well...there you go...'nuff said :thumbsup:

Not even an issue. I don't even notice anyone gawking at my car until they pitch a compliment (which I get all the time). Can't care if you got no reason to acknowledge to begin with :wink:
