Running your speakers in series or parallel that is the question.

So both my subs are single voice coil 8 ohms

the12volt.com recomends this setup

These are the specs on the amplifier

RMS Power (at 14.4V, 20Hz-20kHz)
Per channel into 4 ohms: 50W x 4 (1% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms: 75W x 4
Brigded 4 ohms: 150W x 2

Specs on the subs

I bridged the rear channel but it looks like im running at 16 ohms?? So the top would be ideal?

If that is the case should i run a power wire directly off the amp and split it into two to run it directly to the positive and positive. And then off the negative side of the amp to negative negative.

You just have to use a small strand of speaker wire and connect the positive terminals on the subs together. Do this for the neg.

Afterwards, tap a longer strand of speaker wire into each and attach to the amps corresponding + and - terminals.

That would work best as it would allow you to run a lower ohmage at 4.

top picture is parallel wiring, bottom is series.
Parallel = lower ohm load, by half (two 2ohm drivers = one 1ohm load)
Series = doubling the ohm load. (two 2ohm drivers = one 4ohm load)


if you do parallel the easiest way to wire is to run 2 sets of speaker wire into the amplifier terminals. One set for each sub.

I rewired it parallel. The subs actually hit very hard now. The kind that you can feel in your seat. Only downside is i can hear the speakers capping out. They start to make a popping sound when i turn the volume up. I adjusted the gain down a lot lower and now seems to be okay and matched with the front.
