The downfire box is almost done.

Duplicolor bed liner spray. 2-3 coats of that and you will have a fairly durable, scratch/ chip resistant (not proof) finish.

Really good idea and it does look good. It needs one more coat for 3 coats. I'll do that tomorrow. Then mount the woofer and install it soon.

One question, would a clear coat paint be beneficial or not? If so what brand or type?

i think a clear coat would be a waste.... my HT box is a year old, duplicolor finish, I did two or three coats... no clear coat... seems to hold up fine so far.

Ahh the downfiring woofer. I love making those. If you decide to change out you can always use this in the home!

I also like the way it turned out and it really looks good in the car. It also sounds fantastic.

The amp is mounted under the passenger seat. I selected this amp because it fits there and these amps are durable. This woofer has an RMS Rating of 200 watts so I figured that a 300 Watt RMS amp would be perfect and it is.

Now this amp has an adjustable bass boost feature. The small box and bass boost is not a good combination. In fact I have the bass boost set at 0. Gain is a little over half way and low pass is somewhere between 80 and 100 Hz. This thing sounds good, in fact, most of the sound appears to be coming from the dash. I am very happy with the overall sound

An aftermarket HU will be next but it will be a while. I just bought new rims for my Ranger.
