Amp ground

Going to be installing my amp this weekend but wanted to make sure that I won't be drilling into the gas tank.

I plan on using the metal surface that is under the middle section of the rear seats in the back (around where the metal frame that holds the rear seats is, just below it but above the spare tire area).

Can someone confirm that this location is ok? Anyone with any other interesting places to use for ground?

Just to add that I never owned a hatch and the trunk space makes things like this very interesting to say the least. lol

In my 98 mustang I had plenty of places to place the amp and drilling the ground wire.

I grounded off to the driver's side of the back seat area. I made my own ground bolt. The fuel tank is under the center of the back seat on the sedan, I'm sure it's similar for the LB. Take a look at some of our install logs, you might gain some insight.

you can't find an existing bolt or screw? hell, mount to the shock tower, seat bolts or seatbelt bolts if you have to.

i'd do just about anything before i put a hole in the chassis. once it's there it'll start to rust immediately, then you have a rusty hole in the floor of the car.

there's gotta be a bolt somewhere reasonably close...or you can mount it somewhere else i'd say.

You won't believe how many holes I found in my Yaris when I was deadening the floor.

Would recommend sanding the paint off.

Look on the main menu of this section. Look at Derick's install as well as mine. You'll see lots in there that might work for ground points.

About drilling a hole, i never in all the cars i have done it to had it rust. It is inside the car and unless you are spilling water all over, it wont rust.

The frame for the rear seats should have an adequate bolt for you to ground to.

That is what I was thinking of using. Easier than drilling, that's for sure.
