hope ur joking
What do you mean? He said "new saftey recall...imploding Yaris". I said I knew I shouldn't have bought a Yaris...pertaining to the "recall".
Then I said I hope that wasn't his car in pic. :iono:

Yes this is my car. I rear ended a girl on the highway 2 nights ago. put a couple of scratches in her bumper and thats it. The radiator is almost touching the motor.

you really think a car can just implode like that....
Do you REALLY believe that I thought his car would just "imploded" on it's own?
Hmm...ok.
To the OP....I was making a little light of that fact that you were obviously joking a bit yourself...labling this as an "imploding recall". No disrespect intended. I have no idea why the other poster is trying to start trouble.
Sorry about your car. You ok?

^wow that's about the biggest douch bag thing to do. Laugh about my car. Not a hope your ok/ was anyone hurt/ sorry to see this. This is why some people only post on MI.
To the person that asked. I am ok for the most part I have figured that I have strained something in my neck and the strongest pills we have here at the house won't even take the edge off the pain. No health insurance means no going to the doctors either. Really sucks that I can't really hold my baby daughter.

whoa,
actually, was laughing at the thread title (i mean, you mustve done it for a reason...i wouldve reconsidered another thread title if anything.) as well as for the fact that Billiam had to explain himself.
In retrospect however, I guess i should have mentioned the above in my previous post.
heres to a speedy recovery, both for yourself and your yaris.

I knew the other guy was joking. But to just straight laugh without explaination can just come across the wrong way

That sucks, especially if you were at fault.
Hope she's ok and does'nt try to gain financially at your expense.
Hope you mend up quickly and that the car is fixable.

Well the insurance people didnt get to look at the car today but they said from the info they got from the police report the car was probably going to get totaled. With that said do not ask me for any parts or start calling dibs on anything because I will make it a point not to sell to you. I may still end up getting another Yaris. If ther is a part out I will post it in the proper section.

OK, that's enough.
That other guy (above) wasn't laughing at you, that much is pretty clear.
but then you posted with a joke in the title so what do you expect? :iono:
I was gonna say sorry for your loss or something like that but then you went on with the bit about why MI is great and why we suck (not in so many words but we get the point ). Funny what most of you don't realize if that we're all the same people in both forums except maybe a handful, but OK, whatever
So I guess although I do feel sympathy for a fellow Yaris owner with a broken car, the little snide comments and jabs prevent me from being too touchy feely here, if you know what I mean.
This whole thread started all wrong if you ask me. Nothing funny about what happened to your yaris. You should have started with "look what happened to my yaris" or something like that I think and would have gotten a completely different response. .02 :iono:
good luck with your new car, and sorry about your loss.

That's the part that got to me actually. That poster wasn't being a douche, he was laughing at your joke. You posted the joke yourself, what do you expect?!
Now that I got that out of my system...
I see the rest of your post. You don't have health insurance?!! That definitely sucks. Can't you go to a free clinic some place? I would not stay like that. At least let them give you some muscle relaxant or something. It might put you to sleep but it'll stop the spasms. Will your auto insurance cover some of these costs? I know my insurance has an option for medical costs which I waived because I have health insurance through work right now, but now that I see your car I don't know if I did the right thing.
anyway, good luck to you and try to get some health care right away! :frown:

I said in another post that just laughing without explaination can be taken in the wrong way even more so when someone is already upset. I recentally switched jobs and health insurance has not kicked in.
I made the title that way because when I am so upset I am about to blow up I have to make jokes. If I dont I start to scare a lot of people and having kids around that just isn't a good thing.
And the quote that you highlighted makes sence. I will take offers when I post that I am selling things off. I have a lot to deal with right now and don't need the extra stress and the reminder that I cant just hop in my car and go somewhere. My car ment a lot to me and there is a possibility that I am not getting it back to drive.

^ well, that's just it. Clearly you're not ready to "laugh about it" and you're still really sensitive (that's not a criticism, by the way, you're entitled to feel the way you do for however long you need to *** especially *** if you're in pain)
this sucks big time and could happen to any one of us. People here stop for no reason whatsoever, right in the middle of the road, instead of pulling over. It always makes me so mad when they do that. All it takes is one second of distraction and bam.
I know your car means a lot. Every one on this board understands that, believe me. This whole situation sucks big time.
hang in there.

best of luck Red....I truly hope that you do by another Yaris. As you know they are great cars. I actually just had a conversation with my x-wife the other day that she thinks it is ridiculous to buy a car and then pour thousands of bucks into it when someone could take that money and get "the same stuff" without all the hassle. She doesn't care for the Yaris so she just doesn't get it...best of luck.

The car got move to a different tow lot today to make it easier for the insurance person to look it over. I have been told it is looking like its going to be a total loss. With that said I am going to start looking for another vehicle. I am taking suggestions for a new (probably going to buy used to keep the price down) it needs to be family friendly (2 adults 2 kids) a couple years old and not american.

Crazy their totalling it. I've had 3 major incidents ($4,800 - $8,000 - $5,300) and they want to keep fixing mine and I have over 84k miles :iono:

No offical word yet but they keep saying it might be. I have started pulling part off it at the tow lot. Didn't get much taken off because I didn't have long and it was 105 out and not a cloud in the sky. I should hear something tomorrow when the adjuster goes and looks at it. If I get word it is totaled I am going to look for a xB2, Matrix, or possibably a Rav4.

Quite the bummer, and waiting for the adjuster to do their thing just prolongs the agony. I think I'd lean toward the XB2 of MAtrix, but guess it all depends on what your looking for in a car.

I got final word yesterday that they totaled my Yaris. They said the frame was bent. So the search is on for a new car
