I have a weird rattle-grind noise sometimes when braking, mostly at slow
speed and coming to a stop, it seems to be coming from lower engine
compartment but hard to say maybe more to the passenger side,
it is not really loud, and it is not a gear grinding kind of a noise.
This only happens periodically and I can go days without hearing anything,
or I do some test Runs and it wont happen, but it is definitely not normal
it is still under warranty, but kind of tricky taking it to the dealership when
it only happens periodically. I have now 33,000 on my 2008 Auto sedan.
anyone have idea what it might be.

Thanks.

mostly at slow speeds sounds like ABS how? lol

If you have a jack and jack stands throw the car up, take the wheel off, and check your pads and rotors. You can see if there is any pad left with just the wheels off. There are a couple DIYs on front and rear brake changes on this forum that might help you.

Although intermittent noises usually aren't the brakes, its suspension/cv joint/axle related, and you notice it during braking because of the increased strain. When brakes start grinding, they don't stop until you fix them.

Let me know if you figure it out i have the exact same problem. Been meaning to take apart my front brakes and clean and lube everything to see if it helps. FYI i have a auto sedan too thats a 80 with about 30k miles as well.
