I don't have the b@llz to take the yaris out on the track, so I'm considering running a 1st gen neon specifically for track usage.

SCCA, NASA, and probably whatever else I can afford to run.

Anyone else planning on doing either of the 2 next season?

I like the NASA orgainzation in NJ. They put on good events and are usually not as ridgid as the SCCA guys. Plus, NASA allows more choice in mods and still staying in your class.

I am interested in a Yaris just for Auto-x and track days and am looking foward to seeing how competetive it can be in it's class.

Why not try your hand at auto-x? Its far cheaper than road racing. I plan on attending several scca events this year with the Yaris.

Although I will say a 1g Neon is certainly competent as a track car. I can put you in touch with a few local guys who can point you in the right direction.

I may actually end up using the yaris at some HPDE 1/2 sessions this coming year, depending on how long my 240SX track car takes to complete.

NASA is pretty interesting, and seemsa lot less restrictive than SCCA. Also, they hold events at Mid-Ohio... I'd love to drive the Yar around that track once or 40 times.

if you're not shooting for nationals it doesn't matter what class you end up in for SCCA, unless you reall want a .90 trophy :lol:

I run my STi in Autox and hopefully a track event or two this year once i get new rotors, lines, and fluid :)

actually there is an autox on sunday :D

okay how the hell do i attend these auto cross events here in MA? I know down in VA they have a lot. But where the hell do i find these activities being held? lol

Less restrictive as in there is less shit you have to buy to actually be able to race. You basically need a helmet and a number magnet. I believe SCCA requires a tad more, correct? Could be wrong, feel free to enlighten me.

assuming your car passes tech (both sanctioning bodies require it) all you need is a helmet and numbers to run.

now to actually do wheel to wheel "racing" and not just a lapping day both sanctioning bodies require proof you're capable of not being a dumbass and a capable driver.

for Autox all you need is a helmet and something to make your #s with

I have seen guys with the blue masking tape for numbers at auto-x. Thatshow hi-tech it is. Im preparing my honda hatch for some auto-x and hpde. Try it out you will be hooked. The guy from MA just go on the scca website and look up events in your local area.
