No disrespect intended, I support the troops in what they do. I have never served but my grandad did in WW2 in New Guinea.
Here is Bambo wearing my grandad's miniature medals.
Lest we forget.

awww. ... is that the original bamboo? That's a sweet picture. No disrespect intended, of course.
My dad and my brother both served, but luckily they weren't sent anywhere too dangerous. My grand father wasn't so lucky but it was WW2 back then.

One of my grandfathers served in WW2, the other in Vietnam. An uncle served in Operation Desert Storm back in 91. My fiance served from 2002-2007 (Korea, Kuwait, and Iraq), and is going over again later this month as a civilian support.

Prolly not something to talk about, but I was 165 when I was active duty. I am now at 250. I have gained a lot of muscle since then, but also a lot of chub.

^ that happened to my brother, too. That could be because you don't get up at 4 a.m. to go walk 30 miles anymore (with all your gear on your back).

Tell Fritz to get is friggen' hands out of his pockets, and for all those Devils to get in the P.O.A, even if those photos were taken several years ago. The only Marine that should be allowed a statue with his hands in his pockets is this "gentleman":

I recognize that "Electric Strawberry" patch on his arm, 25id out of Schofield Barracks. That was my first assignment "84th engineers" and I still wish I could go back and live there.

Nice PSL your bro is holding in that second pic, too bad he can't bring one of those back with him!
And in case anyone doesn't recognize who that is with him in that last pic, it's Gary Sinise of CSI New York fame. He goes over there as a part of the USO shows with his band, the Lieutenant Dan Band (the name comes from the movie Forest Gump).
Cheers! M2

I served 22+ years in the military (http://www.teen-boarding-school.com/teen-boarding-schools/youth-military-schools-free-information-about-military-schools-for-teens.html) as a teacher but I am a professional military. My father was also a soldier so that by the time I was 18 I knew that I'd already been prepared for boot camp and that I was "expected" to serve as almost every man in my family has done for decades.

I didn't serve but I appreciate and thank everyone who has or is. I figured I'd post up a picture of a buddy of mine who did 4 tours in Iraq. He fell in Anbar province, so I like to share about him with others when I can to keep his memory alive. He's the one in the middle

Canadian Army reserve, way too long ago. My father was Medical Corps, one uncle was Merchant Marine, another RCAF, another Hitler Youth. They all served their countries.
