Hi guys,

I just took a look under the hood and saw that the little peace that is holding the intake sheild broke off. Well, almost. It's still holding everything in place, but it's just the matter of time before it snaps off. It's clear that the engine movement is the cause. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can. In the meen time, Garm, if you're reading this, do you have any ideas how to fix this?

Please guys, help me, I'm far away from home on holiday. God knows what I will do if this thing starts jumping inside engine bay.

Thanx

How much did it cost? And how can you be sure it won't happen again?

Same thing happend to me i just removed the broken piece. What happens is our cars have no front engine mount so there is excessive engine movement. Depending on how you drive it will keep breaking off because one part is attached to the engine and moves with it while the other part is stationary. So there is a constant pressure and tugging against it as the engine moves back and forth.

Well, it's TS and it's roaring down the street. How would you drive it? :)

I could remove that broken peace, drill a hole or two and attach some strong rubber as a replacement. It should hold the sheild in place without breaking

If you were here, it would be an easy warranty issue. I've contacted AFE about how they might offer to handle it. I think they should at least replace the broken airbox.
