My yaris is an 08 5 speed and now all of a sudden i press on the accelarator all the way down and it is very very very slow to react. In fact i can push on the accelarator quickly several times and nothing changes in the engine. Its only until I press and hold the accelarator all the way down that it finally decides to engage... any clues or ideas as to what it might be or how do I fix this???
THANKS!

My throttle response has always had a delay since day one. It's annoying especially when your moving in close quarters, like when parking.:iono:

It's annoying especially when your moving in close quarters, like when parking.:iono: same for both our YARIS , it'd like a deadspot from a standstill . Somtimes it seems enough to possibly get you rearended by an impatient driver or other times it's too perky :burnrubber: .

I have the auto, so it's like "blip throttle, wait, then car lurches forward when parking. I've never had the thing spin the tires off the line due to this.
SUX...

Doing a search on "Throttle problems" comes up with some sobering threads

yea, there have been issues. First thing to try quickly is to disconnect the battery overnight, but when that does nothing you'll need to take it to the dealer.
I haven't had any real problems with it, but i'd definitely vote against drive by wire.
