I received my CF Hood today from Garm...according to him there are only 2 of these bad boys in North American. Brian, another member is the other person that has it. I will be installing soon if all goes well.

Yup I do. I am arguing with the State of Maine on it right now...I went online and had my plates made. I even have my original order and told them they screwed up, but they are saying that I have to pay again to get new ones.

This one and most out there is the bolts only. Many aftermarket hoods might need a "custom' solution for the hood latch. This is one of them...there have been two resolutions. One is to do what Garm did which is to essentially add a spacer and the other is to drill out part of the receiver on the car. I am gonna be checking out Garm's solution because it will allow me to swap hoods when I want in 10 minutes. I don't want to leave it on during the winter months to prevent snow, ice, and scratch issues.

I got the wrong plates once "WRMSTR" instead of "WBMSTER"
I was a webmaster -- not a warmaster, LOL. Cali DMV replaced them at no charge.

You got real lucky. They finally agreed to only charge me the 20 bucks for the plates to be made instead of the full 57. I guess that is something at least.:iono:

Nicest sedan hood I've seen. Is it really vented with mesh that much? Seems a wee excessive. Looking forward to more pics, even if I'm a hatch guy. lol

I picked up the bolts today at the local hardware store. Now I am just patiently waiting to see how Garm resolved the hood latch issue. I would rather not drill the latch receiver because I don't believe that it would hold the OEM hood with it drilled. Come on Garm! Supply the picture :cry::cry:

The two larger vents have removal panels. The intake vent doesn't.

Drilling the receiver will not affect the ability to use the OEM hood. You are drilling the bottom of a U that rotates into a C to hold the hood down. At the very worst, the hood would be able to vibrate a tiny amount (1/16") in the the receiver when latched.

Well this is good to know...I will have to decide by later on today what I am going to do then. Thanks!:w00t:

I know this might be a moot point since there are only 2 of us with this hood however I figured I would post it up. I picked up 4 Metric Hex Cap Screw M6-1.00 x 20 and 4 #12 SAE 7/32" washers to mount the hood. They fit perfectly. When my body kit arrives and I have the other painting done I am having them painted to match the OEM bolts.

So I did test fitment this evening. Had a little trouble with the fact that the proprod hole is too small...actually about half as small as it needs to be so I will need to shave that a bit and try not to go too much. If I can find one of my files I may try that. A lot more work, but less likely to screw it up. I need to align the hood a little better and of course take care of the latch issue.

well after about 20 minutes of filing the proprod hole I was able to get it to fit quite nicely. I went ahead and grabbed my Sharpy and soaked the filed area inside the hole and you really can't even tell I had to do it. Now to tackle the latch (groans). I think that I am going to have to wait until during the day tomorrow for that one.

I understand,Been on this same path....latch may need the "socket" fix I tested the other way and no go for the glass hood. Watch those far ends on the front for lift also if you have problems fitting try washers in weird combos on hinge bolts,I had to go 1 this rear 1 think front on right side and 1 thick on the rear left..just to get my hood to sit semi right.

Alright, so I figured out how to get the hood to latch without cutting the latch or the latch receiver. I figured out that the secondary latch which sticks up higher was hitting the hood when I would attempt to have it latch the primary receiver so I used my titanium drill bit and carved the hole by the latch more and voila! Well not totally. I also used my titanium step bit to drill out the holes on the latch receiver assembly so that I could bring the assembly up a little bit. The last thing that I did was adjust the bumpstops on the bumper cover by "screwing" them down a few turns. Once I did that it latched without a problem...no drilling out the receiver nor cutting the latch itself.

The two main vents have the panels in them and I don't plan on taking them out. As for the intake vent that one is pretty small so hopefully I don't see any issues there either. Garm runs his with the vents open and he says he doesn't have any issues tho.

water flushes through the vents inside the engine bay..
You can pour a garden hose onto your motor and you won't hurt it. Just don't get too much water onto the intake filter.
I run water/meth injection; that injects water directly into the intake.

The only concern like I said for me is the intake vent...with my AFE on that makes me a little skiddish in regards to the car wash. I don't have the ability to wash my car where I am living right now in my yard or anything so I have to use the LazerWash system downtown which if course sprays water 90 degrees toward the hood...I was talking with my buddy and he said that he could build me an insert for that vent that I could put in place when I take it thru the wash...I might take him up on that. That being said it seems like that intake vent has breathed new life into my AFE (pardon the pun). I am getting much snappier throttle response. It also brought me to notice that when I had my car stored the guy that was storing it may have been responsible for my loss of fuel economy and performance when I came back from Afghanistan last year. He zip tied the amp power wire to the top of the rubber gasket that is on top of the AFE "box" which was causing more hot air from the engine bay into my intake rather than cool air...not too good. I am taking care of the amp power wire reroute this evening. I still need to do some tweaking of alignment on the hood. It sits a little lower compared to the body panels and is a couple mm off in alignment front to back/side to side.
