Dashboard lights turn off when I turn use headlights

Hi everybody,

I have this weird thing happening with my 2009 Yaris (3 doors, manual transmission, no powerwindows, cruise control, etc).

When I twist the headlight knob to turn on the headlights, all the instrument panel light turn off. So, when turning on my headlights (at night), I can't see my speed, radio, etc. If I bring it back to the first position, the instrument lights come back on.

It happened extremely randomly, just yesterday.

Any idea?

check the dimmer control which is by your left knee. i hit it once had same problem

Yes has happened to me also. Make sure the dimmer knob is not all the way up and clicked.

Duh!! I just went out to my car to check if this was the problem for me as well and it was. LOL!!

It looks like this TAIL,PANEL1 and PANEL2 fuses are problematic
