Track setup.. tires/psi etc

Out to the track tomorrow.
Not an autocross. But full sized with a 1/2mile straight away.. and some decent fast corners..
Besides checking everything over(torque/brakes/lines safety etc..)
What should I start with for tire pressures?
Supposed to be 20 degrees tomorrow and dry.
Cold, they are currently 32.5psi(Dunlop Direzza's) 205-50-15's on the 15"x7 Enkei RPF1's.

I have a tire temp guage I will be checking between runs to check for higher heat on different parts of the tire etc.
I have never taken a FWD car around this track. Only rear drive ferarri's and vettes.
Any thoughts or suggestions?:thumbup:

Start with manufacturer pressure and adjust from there, even if it means pulling over during a session. You'll know after a couple of laps and they heat up what's happening with your tires and over/understeer, softness, etc.

My experience with the same setup (Star Specs 205/50 + RPF clones) was great. I ran a track day (4 30 minute sessions) at Homestead Miami Speedway with ambient temps of 94 and track temps of 105+. My pressure was initially set at 42psi all around. It was set and forget. I ran all day with great tire wear and no tire melting or grip reduction.

If I were to do another day there with the same temps I might reduce the pressure in the front to 38-40psi. Infamous Turn 10 is the only place where more rear rotation may not be the ideal setup.

How did you do ?? I run 38 in the front and 42 in the rear and I only have to adjust them once after they warm up. Sorry I didn't catch the first post but the company sent me to Wichita for a few days.

Suprisingly well!
37.5 front and back eventually. After a few sessions/hot laps. brought them down from 40ish. The Dunlops were great. Might consider the 23/24mm Sway bar for next season. Supercharger will be a welcome addition in the straights. Video is being posted on youtube now. Will update a link later. Hopefully I didn't swear too loud while ripping around!

How fast were you going in the straights?

About 165km/h I think I might have put a dent in the floor board from having the pedal mashed against it for almost 3 hours...

I find that optimal tire pressure varies between tires. On my NT-o1's I run 30psi cold all around. On my R1R's I run 28 cold in the front and 34 cold in the rear to get the same balance. Also depends on your suspension and alignment. If I was on stock suspension and factory alignment those pressures would be too low. So it really comes down to what you find best.

now this is for my solara i use toyo r888 & i start out 38 front & 36 back, after the 1st session i check pressure & when there hot i lower pressure to 48 front 44 back the weather usually in the 90's-low 100;s high, heres a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pLigAQIFzw
