With his 583rd and 584th homers, Jim Thome tied then passed Mark McGwire for ninth place all-time.
The Minnesota Twins are currently beating the Texas Rangers 12-3 in the bottom of the 8th Inning. Jim hit two home runs in the game. Now whether or not you are a Twins fan ( I am) you have to give props to this man. He did what he did all natural. He has never ever been considered part of the steroid era and for good reason. He is a role model for anyone that enjoys the game. if anyone else noticed Alex Rodriguez hit 600 this year however it was not an "authentic" 600 and as far as many are concerned it means nothing that he did. I am one of those that feel that way. Men for the last 100 years have attempted to attain great home run feats and those that used performance enhancing drugs only marred the sport. My opinion is they should be banned for life. Their egregious act against the sport was far more terrible than what others have done that have been banned (Pete Rose as an example). They weren't stupid and had to know they were doing wrong, but didn't care. Anyway, enough of that. Jim Thome I salute you on your quest to reach an honest to goodness 600+ Home Run record!:respekt:
