5 speed Yaris are programmed to delay the RPM's falling when shifting into the 2nd gear. Did anyone had the ECU reprogrammed to cancel this ?

Just forget it.It's ECU is very hard to reprogramme!

i have the solution to your problem :D

by the way, all toyotas do this, all scions do this.. why would you want to do away with this feature?

Can't do quick shifting because of it. I'm interested what the solution could be

what? you can't do quick shifting because of the engine staying revvd up? that makes no sense.

do you mean clutchless shifting or just "a really quick 1-2 shift" ?

I mean a quick 1-2 shift at low RPMs

If I depress the clutch pedal when the engine is at 2500 rpm, the RPM will take almost a second before it starts to drop. Otherwise it stays at 2500rpm for up to 1sec. even when the clutch pedal is depressed. If the clutch is dropped at 2500rpm it will be anything but smooth - as the revs will go back to something like 1500rpm in one shot

you got to stay on the gas...

I'm doing the same while in neutral. Keep the gas at 2500rpm then suddenly release it. It takes a while before the rpm starts to slow down.

Do you guys never notice this on your 5speed ?

yeah it sounds like a technique problem dude. if you're doing quick shifts but want it to be smooth... lol, they're sorta not congruent with each other. it sounds like you want a quick shift but not accelerate at all after going into second.

anyway, the fix is a lightweight flywheel. and i have one for sale. Fidanza aluminum, 5lbs lighter than stock.
