Does somebody actually build or have yaris modified to this kind of race ?
I tough I will try the amateur race with my yaris. decides tuning the chassis and brakes what do you think it is better to charge the engine or going with the non charge modification ? :burnrubber:

TURBO is a must for elevation, and you will be climbing hills.

Are there different classes for this racing? Forced induction might put you in a different, more competitive class.

sure there re different classes and turbo or supercharger will put me in different class (of course more competitive) that is why I am asking

what is a real increase of HP by installing parts like cold intake or sport exhaust ?
what is the best way to start ?
does somebody have tuned the yaris engine without the force induction ? what was the result ?

thanks

the first thing you should find out is what the sanctioning body of the races uses for rules. Some times, like the SCCA, stupid things get you placed in a completely different and much harder class.

Yes classing would be biggest consideration. Seems most rally car classes in Europe favor naturally aspirated Yaris. So suspect hillclimbs would be similiar.

In California the Yaris might do well in HP. But thats about it as most hillclimbs in western US are fairly steep and put emphasis on horsepower.

this is amateur hill climb so there are no such a strict rules like in a pro. the only think they are looking on is the engine size and the power .
do you actually have some experience or link where can I find more info about yaris modified to hill climb ?
thanks

The best thing you could do would be to change the final drive ratio in your gearbox. I will in effect make the gearbox feel like a close ratio gearbox and allow you to accelerate up hills that you previously couldn't. This will make more difference to your times than any exhaust/ intake mods will.

Maybe dont concentrate on finding a modded yaris maybe just look for hill climb car setups and apply them to your car.

maybe a short shift kit and shifter extension so you dont miss gears, thats a run-ruiner especially for hill climb

+1 for final drive ratio and mass weight reduction

Hill climb in a front wheel drive? that would suck.IMO Understeer central! On pavement is one thing, but gravel and dusty roads are all different animals. I'm sure there is a class for it, I just personally wouldnt see much interest in it, really limited. Power wouldnt be you biggest issue, traction is.
