I have the NTD version of this throttle controller and I like it. It does make a noticeable difference. Consider getting one from our YW sponsors.

It helps out with throttle lag and can also save you some gas, depending on which setting you use.
There's quite a bit more info here if you do a search.

which one is the best for least money?

installation = easy
settings = from -50% of normal throttle or +70% of normal throttle
cheapest? NTD throttle contoller (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23314) same as I-Drive (ebay), Pivot. Requires harness adapter for Yaris.

the Sprint Booster is the best plug 'n play one for the money. The Blitz one has a nicer display but it's more expensive.
Here is the thread on it, echo has one on his car:

I picked up the Sprint Booster(Bought it locally as I needed it quick at the time)
Customs always slows things down.
Anyway.. it has two settings, or off.
Takes a bit getting used to considering what you had before hand!
Well Worth the 300 CDN I paid

Henry.....I have a Blitz. I have had no issues with it and it has been in for over 2 years now. It would be hard to explain the adv. or disadv. other than the to me the eco setting is where the car should have been as far as feel. I know it does'nt make much sense other than the car feels better at Eco vs stock without a controller. I usually run my car on Eco or SP1. SP1 will get you up in speed pretty quick and you will find youself lifting on the pedal, kinda of a surgy type feeling. If I need speed I'll hit SP1 then drop it down to Eco. I hope that made some kind of sense to you. Anyway now that I have it I wouldn't really want to drive the car without it. Oh, mileage....well last long trip 41.2 with Eco setting. No comparison run made with the unit off.

can you switch it during the ride or you have to stop and then switch to other setting ? what RPM can you change it ?
thanks

09-27-2010, 12:09 PM
You can change it at any time and at any RPM.
henry33

that is cool so I will be able to change it before overpassing someone cool

You can, although it's not extremely easy to do while driving, since one needs to look at the little screen while you change modes using two tiny buttons.
I sometimes do it blindly, but it's easy to get the setting wrong.

where have you mounted the throttle controller can you post the pix ?

I agree with TK, until you are really familiar with the location of the little arrowed switches on the Blitz I would watch the screen. However, that would be just like driving and texting on a cell phone, trying to watch the screen and press buttons. Start off in Eco and if you don't like it, slow down to a place where you can safely push the up down button(s) and then proceed. A word of caution and it will also be in the directions....turn off when using reverse. I also don't let anyone operate the vehicle with the unit on...that includes the dealership. For mounting locations, I do not have any with pics yet. I think there are some here on the forum. Try a Blitz or throttlecontroller search.

All the ebay TC;s I have seen seem to use the same internal chipset (7 SP modes and 5 ECO modes).

Ray included a print out of the 2 locations to tap for the reverse. Did you connect with the OBD connector?

dont worry about the reverse..even if you have that on highest level its not that sensitive atleast on the manual since i can use the clutch to move. not sure bout auto though.

I don't think it's a big deal not to have that wire (I don't). But not having it may become an issue with the insurance guys...

love it didn't have time to try all setting but so far I am feeling the huge difference between normal and sport 3-4 ;) in city using the eco 2. this will be very handy in the winter when switching to eco 3-4 will prevent spinning wheels on ice and snow ;)

Same voltages, at first i had issue with the controller going limp, leaving me with no throttle whatsoever, a few times. Ray and I figured it had to do with power or ground, because after different power and ground placements it still had the issue i solved it with a new car battery.
It was the battery for sure, which had seen a couple deep cycles in its short year and half life span. Tho i saw the same throttle voltages the controller must have not gotten a steady flow of power i guess and car would throw a CEL and go into a protection mode rather than accel. stuck
I drive on ECO5, and cycle to Normal and SP7 when needed. Kinda cool to drive in say ECO5, and not let up on the pedal and switch to Normal, holy free boost :w00t:

I had problems with starting the engine today.
the car was parked for the 2 days and when I tried to start the engine was spinning but has difficulty to start. then I heard click in the controller and the engine starts.
have no idea what that was but hope it won't happen again
I do not want to somehow destroy the engine ;)

hi all, do you encounter zero response from the throttle when on the move?? had that twice in less than 5km stretch of highway.
when u lift throttle to slow down..then accel to move on, it just doesn't response at all...let it glide for awhile..response came back...hmm....:iono:

I have encountered no problems at all other than I tend to get a lead foot on anything other than the Eco setting.

+1 on this issue. A new battery fixed it before, but not this time. Car went limp and check engine light went on, no code reader so dont know what it was. I just got good at unpluging it and going back to stock when it happens (can get dangerous on the side of the road).
Besides this intermittant dangerous problem, i love the controller.

well...checked all sockets...everything attached well
while driving today, CEL on, and i was on the motorway! got to switch on hazard light and pull to the side. unplug socket and resume to original..everything work fine..
think gotta throw away this gadget

indeed, I have no idea why its acting up. Glad it worked like a charm when i had no way of stopping (mountain single lane roads)
Do you know what the CEL code is?
