Has anyone seen or heard of a place to pick one up? I am having absolutely no luck, I watch ebay everyday and all the online salvage dealers are coming up completely blank. They always have the basic speedo only model and ebay only gets the ones with Kph. I swear even though the price is ridiculous I would probably buy a brand new one if I could....

From what I saw in previous threads trying to order it brand new if your vin doesn't match is a no go or I would try.

You could get the kph one. It would make you think you were going faster! Is that right? :/

Bladesmith, have you thought about just buying a tach guage and installing it on your driver glove compartment?
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=662
That's the guide on how to install a Tach and it would look pretty good to have a large size Tach guage right in the middle of your steering wheel.
I think Micro Image has a guage pod/hood that looks really nice and it has room for 3 guages.
http://shop.microimageonline.com/3-gauge-pod-Yaris-cm-gpod3.htm
I'm planning on getting one as soon as I can find some guages that fits my fancy. Planning on installing Tach, Engine Temp and boost/pressure gauge when I get a turbo/super charger installed.

Yeah thought about the aftermarket tach route but it just isn't the look i want. I know it sounds childish but I kind of want the factory look so I can go "Take that toyota I got a tach anyway without spending an additional 3 grand". I really hate the things they left off this car. I mean really a manual car without a tach, how cheap is that??? Anyway thx guys I guess I'll just have to deal with it until my next car.(not a toyota)

try a junkyard....ebay is worth a shot, even though Canadian clusters are sold on there mainly.
Keep an eye out on the used item board on this forum~ MANY people have bought there cluster w/ tachs on here...some with US version and others with Canadian version.
Best of luck....you can go either way though~

ok, crazy idea... Buy a KPH one off ebay get the stock overlay/film from an "S" model cluster from the dealer(do they sell individual parts or do you have to buy the entire cluster?) and swap the films..... anybody who works at a dealer have any idea if it's feasable ?

Have you thought about an ecometer? They run about $70, have a tach in them and are pretty easy to install..

Nah, really, really, really want the factory one. Any toyota techs or employees please chime in about the overlay swap pls.

So the 07 09 hatch dont have tach, but the 10-11 standard have it?? I looking to buying a hatch manual, but without tach from factory, I will think again,
The Base and the S have the same tach?

You guys get your Yaris's for far cheaper than we do here (relative to median income), that's primarily the reason why.

Having driven US-spec cars in Europe for seven years, you get used to figuring out the conversion. 100 km/h is 60 mph, 50 km/h = 30 mph, etc.
Honestly, it's not that tough!

It's not a matter of that both markings are on it anyway, I just want to it to look like what SHOULD have been there in the first place if toyota wasn't a bunch of cheap douchebags. crap did I say that out loud ?

The only problem with the overlay swap is that the odometer will still read in Km

I know im a bit off topic but since we are talking about the tach, I ask, do the hatch manual 2010+ come with tach??

you could always wait for ctscott, and whoever else was working on it, to finish the "yargauge". that will look stock. however, if you are like me, you would prob prefer an analog tach over a digital. but at least, it will have the stock look.

Yeah kind of did want the analog look, but it appears that is going to be damn near impossible unless i find someone with and S and make them crash.... I had looked at Informeter Touch but at 400 bucks it seemed a bit ridiculous. Figure i'll try a bit longer to find an "S" cluster and if i get nowhere just make up a custom pod for either a nice analog gauge or one of those PLB multigauges.

The canadian clusters with an integrated Tach have MPH as the minor units.
It's not very hard to get used to.

Sorry for using your thread, I have a question:
Can the cluster guage cover (plastic one) be replaced ? Mine's got cracked while cleaning the inside of it :(

Yes.....tachs are now evidently standard (my 5-sp. '10 hatch has one).
