View Full Version : Who's The Oldest?

chrisj

I was wondering who the oldest person is here. When guys see my Yari and me get out, I have a feeling they are thinking I'm driving my kid's car. Nah. It's mine and I did all the stuff to it kid.

I am 54. :eyebulge:

You're older than me but not by much.

(I'm old enough to have a kid who drives a Yaris, enuff said )

and by the way, out here, a lot of young people drive LB Yarii but not exclusively. I see some senior citizens drive Yarii, some men, women of all ages and all walks of life. The other week I saw a very large lady about my age with a huuuuuuuuuge dog in the back.

I would never expect to ask a woman her age, but guys? Women get older while men get something called "distinguished", which is just code for old. lol

I cannot recall his handle, but I do remember a gent on here that was 68 and that was a few years back. Not sure if he is still an active member...I was pretty impressed that someone his age was so internet savvy. Pretty cool. My grandparents are all in their late 80s and even though they dabble in email occasionally if you talk about being in a forum they would picture you in a town hall with a couple of podiums! haha

Re the Avatar: No, it is not the first airplane I flew in, but it is the only one I have flown myself! The design is mostly Chanute with modifications for stability and convenience. A buddy of mine and I designed, built, and flew it in the early 70s. It now hangs in a museum, mis-labeled as a "replica", and built by a guy I have never met... Can't always trust the info in a museum!

I have always said that the "secrete" of growing old gracefully and happy is never fear getting older and embrace it, but never forget what it's like to be a child.

TLyttle
02-27-2011, 12:39 AM
Hmm. Don't know about "graceful", and I still get really enthused about anything I haven't done before. I keep building stuff I've not seen before, and tearing my house apart so that I can rebuild it to my liking.

1/4-size bus anyone? How about a pedal car for kids?

TLyttle
02-28-2011, 01:03 AM
Hahaa! I really am enjoying old age, people imagine that I know what I am talking about, and show (often undue) respect. There are a lot of seniors in this town: the ones that die off the quickest are the ones who have no hobbies, so I imagine I still have some time yet.

I just HATE the duffers who tell me that they are bored, or have nothing to do. I just want to smack 'em!! I tell them to come over to my place, I've got too much to do!
