I want to put in a subwoofer to fill in the bass under 60-80Hz that the factory sound system is missing. Would putting in a couple of 6.5" subwoofers or a very shallow mount 8-10" subwoofer on the hatch door be possible? Has anyone done this? This would help with keeping the trunk space free for putting other stuff in there.

Sure, it's possible. I've seen people do it before.

Honestly it looks funky, and will weigh down the door. Were you thinking on fiberglassing ?

If so, why not utilize the space on the spare tire.

I'm using 6.5 drivers in my front doors for 60-300Hz I'm not 100% happy I rather have them in kick panels in front but I don't want to give up the space.

Just a thought, but what about mounting them in the actual Hatch? I've been considering tearing mine apart to modify for some storage space for ice scrapers and tools and such.

i Have a original SUB from toyoya under the passengerseat.

That is a popular place to mount smaller subs too.

We're talking about the rear liftgate "door"?

I was going to say...if you're thinking about the front doors you'd better seal those bad boys WELL! Your doors will fart like the blazing saddles movie otherwise!

Yes, I mean the door that is lifted up on the back of the car. I haven't taken the plastic off, but I'm guessing it would require some cutting of the metal and then some reinforcement?
