Hello,

I want to install Cruise Control on my 2010 Canadian Manual.

I want to use original parts. My car has electronic tachometer.

What is the procedure for finding the right parts for my car?

I looked at PeteZNY's topic at http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23510&highlight=cruise+control

But i don't know does the same parts work for me.

I looked at my tachometer with a bright light. I can see the lights for the accessories i never used. (they don't light but they appear under bright light) but I couldn't see the cruise control lights.

I looked at CTScott topic for Cruise Control FAQ at http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25515 but i'm not sure if cruise control works for me because i couldn't find the cruise control lamp.

I'll be glad if you help.

Thanks.

It definitely won't work on yours.

Your car is not a Canadian one - Based on the wiring and the cluster, I would suspect that it is a European one.

Hello,

I bought it brand new. It is the LS package. Built for the Canadian market and sent to Turkey. Differences from Turkish model are; heated seats, bluetooth, manual rear windows, daytime running lights and no start&stop system.

I'm sure it is Canadian. And I've already purchased the cruise control stalk :(

Also; authorized dealer asks for 250$ to install cruise control.

If you PM me your VIN, I can run it through the international EPC and figure out what market your car is actually from, but just having the digital cluster and the wiring for steering wheel audio controls means that your ECM does not have the cruise control functionality.

thanks all.

I learned that the LS package cars came especially digital cluster because there were no analog clusters in Turkey.

they came with another package in the half of 2010 called terra sporty

OK - I received your PM with you VIN.

Your Yaris was made in France (in the TMMF plant) in December of 2008. It is a European Terra Type. So, no easy cruise control for you.

I have copies of the US, European, Asian, and general market electronic parts catalogs. They have the ability to decode the VIN and give the details on the car.

Start by measuring the voltage on pin 40 of connector A21 on the ECM, with the ignition on, but the engine off. If it measures 12 V, then it it worth a shot, if it doesn't, then stop there.

Since you are willing to experiment and put some money into trying to get cruise control on your car, another option, which I believe will work on the European Yaris, is the Rostra aftermarket cruise control kit.

It is quite a bit more work to install, but it overrides the gas pedal signal itself, rather than requiring that the ECM do that. The European Yaris uses the same 6 pin connector on the accelerator pedal, with the same pinout as the US one, which is why I think that this should work.

There are two versions for the Yaris - An A/T kit ($209) and an M/T kit ($249)
