What is the compressor outlet flange for (triangle with 3 bolts) IC piping? Downpipe? Doesn't the dowpipe go on the 5 bolt turbine outlet?

I get the T25 standard square/rectangle 4 bolt to manifold, but what goes to the compressor oulet and turbin oulet? I thought it was just IC piping.

In focus_Shifts pic I am right about that turbine outlet mating with the downpipe.

Still curious as to the triangular compressor outlet on the garrett. lol

Another good pic of the triangle flange.

Just want to know what that triangle flange goes to.

Compressor inlet: air comes in through air filter
Compressor outlet: air out through intercooler into engine
Turbine in: exhaust from engine from manifold
Turbine out: exhaust from engine to dowpipe

So the triangle shaped flange would connect IC piping? how? A bracket with coupler?

And THANKS Carlos!!!

This is your compressed air output to intercooler and then to throttle body. Turbine side is called hot side or exhaust side. Compressor side is intake side or cold side. And the hole thing can be called several different names. Some of my favorites are Disco potato and hairdryer.

interesting. first time I've seen a flanged compressor outlet.
Looks like you'll have to fabricate a mating flange unless it comes with a flange piece.

Ok. looking at the zage turbo pic above, where does the air filter mount to?

Go to Ebay and type [GT25 flange] and U will find it

Exactly.

So how are we supposed to get the IC piping on there?

Go to Ebay and type GT25 flange and U will find it

Isn't that just the flange to mount to manifold?

Doesn't look triangular to me:iono:

Yes, a flange/pipe/coupler combo

Actually, this seems like a better was of doing it. More secure and maybe less leakage?

Thanks, but I am saving for the gold-standard Garrett.

I am doing this once and once only.

So I will save extra for the garrett.

Now read your pm plz! lol

Purpose of what? Me wanting the best possible piece of the heart of your system?

Or the crazy triangle flange?

blank flange on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400157391358&crlp=1_263602_263622&ff4=263602_263622&viewitem=&guid=622801da1260a02652e56115ffdeee2d&rvr_id=146968960389&ua=M*S%3F&itemid=400157391358#ht_2609wt_1009)

don't know for a fact why they use a flange, but it may allow folks to weld a blank flange onto the intercooler piping and still remove it from the turbo. gotta be more secure and not have to worry about boots and clamps back there. i'm speculating with no research or past knowledge though. just looking.

^^ Thanks for that! I might get one now.

But I still don't uderstand how the IC piping, which is round, will fit.

Does it go thru the flange and somehow bolt down?

Whaddya think?

piping is welded to flat plate, that is bolted to turbo with gasket. no boots or clamps, and removable

Sounds like a PITA.

How are regular turbos IC piping connected? Couplers?

It's funny garm hasn't chimed in cuz he was running this turbo.

Carlos - can you make this turbo work with your setup with the wierd outlet flange?
