Toyota to sell Daihatsu-made minicars from fall 2011

Toyota Motor Corp said on Tuesday its majority-held unit Daihatsu Motor Co will supply it with three 660cc minivehicle models for sale under the Toyota brand in Japan.
The first will be supplied in autumn 2011 and Toyota expects volumes of about 60,000 minivehicles a year once all three models are on sale, the two companies said in a statement.
They also said they would discuss further cooperation in the Japanese market using Toyota's environmental technology such as hybrids and electric vehicles, and that specific products and technologies would be decided by the end of 2011.
