View Full Version : Simota Carbon SRI or Simota drop in?

I'm really torn between these two, so I decided to ask you guys your
opinions on both.

I had the drop box filter I was happy with it fit was good

what was the difference between stock and the drop in? any change at all or not so much?

the filter is less restrictive than the factory material. I like that it is reusable,high flow and no risk of hydrolock vs a cai. For the amount of power the Yaris makes there is very little difrence. I had a air duct that went from the airbox right to the foglight cover with the simota airfilter and kept the box very cool. As far as sound it was a bit louder but not like a CAI

Yeah, I ended up going with the drop in filter. Thanks for the help
Just for fun the other day while cleaning off my stock filter, I decided to see what
would happen if I drove a bit without a filter (it's not dusty at all in my area). So I
did a few pulls down the road and I have to tell you, it was like night and day between
a oem filter and no filter. Gobs of power and pull all the way up until you let off of the
pedal. Sounded pretty mean too. After a few pulls, the stock filter went right back on
where it belongs :)
