Whew! My wife and I played an exhilarating round of 18 holes today. Yes, and it was all I could do to move that mouse swinging that club on Tiger Woods Golf all that time! We have a router and do LAN play on that and other games. Wow, I need a nap.

am I the only one on here who doesn't get golf?

No offense meant, OP. I just don't get it at all. :iono:

It does seem a little goofy to spend a fortune hitting a little ball as far and accurately as possible, get it as close to this 4-inch hole in the ground with a pretty flag marking it, knocking the ball in that hole, then doing it all over again 17 more times. lol!

I am kinda restricted to playing golf on the PC these days due to back issues, but one thing I like about the game is that you are always playing yourself...never an opponent. You are always trying to get better and better, always battling it out with yourself. I used to get frustrated playing on the course sometimes and asked myself why I would pay that much money just to get upset. :)

Holy cow, I didn't even notice you were talking about a computer game!

I was all riled up about something and didn' t even see all the words. My bad.

Yeah, actually that is a good explanation. I did play mini golf when I was a kid and liked it then. It does take skill to get that ball going where you want it to go. I get that. But as a grown up, I've grown to dislike the whole golf culture intensely.

Anyway, when I saw your thread I had just finished reading this...

so it looks like some kids messed up at the GG Park and had a joy ride on the golf course. Already people are talking about hanging them or something!!

I'm not saying what they did was right, but to call it a tragedy and to demand these kids go to jail, I mean, honestly, give me a break.

Like I said, I can't really play REAL golf anymore, but when I did, it was always at the county-owned course, where it was 7 bucks to play 9 holes. My dad plays every single day and it costs a fortune. He and my uncles think nothing of dropping $75 each on a round of golf. Now maybe on a round of drinks, I could see it. :)

so you see nothing wrong with kids causing over $ 75,000 in damage? Um, okay, i don't get that. Destruction of property is a very serious crime. Jail Time is a minimum. What if they stole your car and totaled it? Would that be a bad thing worthy of jail time?

huh what?

And that movie is bs in every possible way. Completely fake and basically a piece of fiction.

I know lots of golf courses look like they cost a fortune to maintain. I played on courses in Florida that had fairways that were almost like carpet. That has to cost a fortune, and if some idiot kids messed it up, it would surely cost a fortune to fix. I'd make them...no, their parents...pay for it.

Then I'd do what everyone in South Jesus does...take the kids out behind the woodshed! LOL!
