Yes I have. I have also had people ask me what kind of car it is and if I like it. We also have a Mazda5, of which there aren't many around, and people give it glances all the time as well. The Yaris really stands out in a crowd.

yeah, i have had that happen alot since i got the car. it has been rebadged with the netz emblems since the day that i got it. people are not really sure what the hell it is even though we have had the car on the road for over a year here in salty winterland...

i think its funny, i just yell at them with the windows closed and say its just a toyota yaris, now stop staring and drive...

You are exactly right. I have been telling this to people for years. My Honda Civic was a hemi as well! "Yep it's a Hemi", what a dumbass catch phrase.:wink: If the sparkplugs go in the top of the engine, it is a hemi!

Sure it does... All modern hemispherical heads are based on the same theory, the difference is optimal quench area changes the shape from that antiquated "dome" chamber you posted. :wink:

(allows for bigger openings for inlet and exhaust) They both have hemisperical heads. Too bad the Yaris and just about every other 4 valve setup doesn't look like that diagram. Take a LONG HARD look at the chamber I posted. You will notice it is "round". But nice try... :biggrin:

The combustion chamber on a penthead combustion chamber is bowl shaped, just like the other Hemi. The sparkplug is in the middle most of the times just like the pictures. Dodge is just advertising old worn out technology by NOT using the Penthead Hemi. I think I will make a bumpersticker and it'll say " Yea, It's got a Penthead Hemi.":biggrin:

I was following a Volvo S70 and the guy pulled over to let me pass. He followed me to my destination and peppered me with questions about my car. He loved it.

I probably should have told him that it was modified. I can see him at the dealership insisting that you can get a Yaris with HIDs and a sunroof.

We had a little snow this week - about 2 inches. As usual, local pickup drivres were having a hard time cos they cannot remember from one year to the next that lead-footing it doesn't work in the slippies. At the top of one hill, having quietly idled up it in 3rd, followed by a Jeep, he rolled down his window and shouted "That's the smallest 4x4 I've EVER seen!".
I told him he still hadn't seen one this small, and drove off.

Stares.... I get questions Stares and more stares... I rebadged the car with the Netz emblem on front and the Vitz wording in the back and also have a different licence plate and people are going nuts... What kind of car is it? Is it a china car? Is it Imported? Hey look that car has a Chinese licence plate on it.... Thats when I have to speak up and say No it's a Japnese plate and the car is a Toyota!

Just because the spark plug sits centered above the combustion chamber does NOT make it a hemi head engine....this is wrong thinking....the hemispherical shape of the head is what makes it a hemi...most car makers make "hemi's" these days....Ford even had one in the '60s....the Hemi has been around since the late 1930's so it is NOTHING new....

Yes , you do get a lot of stares in this car! At gas stations I have people come up to me and ask me "what is that?" or "that car is sooo cute!" and then the next question is where I bought it from so they can get one too. LOL!! I also get TONS of questions about my gas mileage.
And at work Im known as the girl who has the cute car! LMAO!! One of my co-workers saw me getting into my car one day after my shift and thats all she talked about at work the next day. LOL!!

Reminds me of this time a van followed my into AutoZone. I thought he was gonna yell at me because I whipped a really quick U-Turn like ERRRRRrrrRRRrrrTTttttrrrtttt but, as he approached, he said,"Nice Car, I'm thinking about getting one. How's the MPG?" the rest is history...
