As you all know My self and Garm build some crazy motors and push them to the limit. With my new turbo build I'm also incorporating a Direct-Port Nitrous system from NX. I'm starting this thread a little prematurely but I want to start with showing you all, what and how I'm doing this.

I must first say, if it were not for my good friends at NX (Mike the owner and Randall his right hand-man this would not be happening) Most of this system is done out of sponsorship and trade show recognition.

The kit will be a 75 direct port shot using a MAX3 progressive controller, which will be tied into my Standalone Microtech ECU. I will be using one of the aux rpm wires to feed the Max3 controller. Heres how this works:

The Max 3 will progressively control one or two separate stages of nitrous based on RPM, time or throttle percentage. The throttle percentage feature allows you to “pedal” the car in the event of wheel spin. Nitrous flow smoothly increases and decreases as you “work” the throttle, allowing you to regain traction and continue racing. The throttle percentage feature is also beneficial for street cars because it allows you to introduce a small amount of nitrous at mid throttle while smoothly transitioning to full nitrous power as you press the throttle to the floor. The feeling is like driving a car with twice the cubic inches. The Max 3 is also compatible with a Davis Technologies Traction Control Module. When used with the traction control module, the Max 3 will progressively reduce nitrous flow when wheel spin is detected and will smoothly restore nitrous flow as traction is regained.

This system will allow for a near perfect nitrous flow. I will be using the Fire and Ice system to keep a consistant 1000 psi of nitrous pressure to insure proper flow and safety.

I will also be using the automatic bottle opener to do everything from the drivers seat.

I'm using the Weapon-R sheet metal intake Manifold that I've had custom fabricated for this NX System. In the pics below you will see blue tape covering the bungs for my Nozzles.

The nozzles I'm using are stainless to keep for a good look in my bay. I will also be using the NX fuel/no2 block for distribution to each nozzel. I've also installed a nitrous filter and a small fuel filter to keep things as clean as possible.

Below are some pics of where I'm at now and the parts that are being used. I will update more in the month to come with better installation pics and progress of where I'm at.

Not holding any punches back on this build. "Go hard or go Home"

Very cool Aras. Best of luck with it!

Thanks much.

Nitrous has come along way since it's inception. I'm banking by usin this Max3 progressive feature that it will also help with a cooling efect with the turbo. I think I may be on to something that may aid in the way of more hp on this motor in a more stable platform than just a run of the mill nitrous fogger kit.

Whats nice is being able to tie it in with my ECU. Big plus!!!

That's always handy. I know that there are a few, and I mean few, guys in my area with little shot kits, but no one above 50...would be interesting to see for sure.

Yeah, this will be the most elaborate NX kit I've done. I want something that is smooth in operation and very smart. I'll keep you posted. I'm about to drop off line as of sunday for a bit. But I plan on posting up some new pics on exactly how this kit is going on. Hope it proves to be helpful to someone other than me.

I'm in the process of building my own NX kit, so I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread.
Best of luck with your project, xbgod!

Well, got the rest of my parts in from NX and were about ready to get started with this bad-ass nitrous kit. Using all black nitrous line complements of Randal at NX.

This should be a unbealiveable install with the MAX3 controller. Allowing nitrous to ease in and out based on RPM and not just a WOT. This will be a much smoother transition and not such a shock to the motor. It will be like having twice the motor without the violent transition of just WOT switch.

I belive this to be the safest way to go on small displacement motors. Having full control throughout the RPM range is ideal. Not one big rush of nitrous at once but a way to ease it in.
