Are there any cars/trucks out there you wish had made it, because you liked them, but no one else did apparently?

I designed a website for a Chevy dealer back in 2003 and they were promoting this new vehicle, the SSR, that I loved the style of. I'm no fan of American car fare, but I sure liked this thing.

I only saw a couple of them on the road, and now can't even remember when I saw one last. :brokenheart:

I honestly have to say the Chrysler PT Cruiser, even though it just recently got killed off. I hated it like crazy the first couple years it came out, but then learned to appreciate the fact it was just paying homage to the beach-going Woody of the '40's and 50's.

Same goes for the Plymouth Prowler. It was an awesome re-vamp of the old-school Ford Coupe hot rods, but with a modern twist. Chip Foose is a design genius!

^ I loved the PT Cruiser when it first came out...how unique it was! But I have a decidedly jaded view of Chrysler (my daughter's Concorde (given to her by my dad) kept my pockets empty during her time in college). I thought the convertible was a great idea that just came too late.

On that Chevy SSR above, I liked something I read about one of the reasons it never made it. They said you just can't build a stock "hot rod". They looked like one but didn't run like one.

Believe it or not the Edsel however I suppose that you couldn't call it a one hit wonder since they never really took off. There is a guy locally that has one still. He has a turntable from the factory in it!!! Weird and yet awesome...there were other things about the Edsel that technology-wise was beyond its time.

^ I actually thought that front end was unique, but I suppose there weren't enough unique lovers around back then.

How about the 2010 Toyota Supra concept? I think that if Toyota had released that car to the masses among what else was being placed out there it would have taken the world by storm if priced right.

The Zap Obvio 012E: http://www.seriouswheels.com/cars/top-2009-Obvio-012.htm

Prototypes made appearances and it was going to be produced starting in 2009 in both electric and gas-burning versions, but there were contractual issues that were exacerbated by financial issues and the end result is that it simply never happened.
