Hi
I just installed THE PYLE PWD250 car alarm everything works good but i would like to hook up the hood and the trunk to it but on the manual it is telling me
this for the trunk
• ORANGE/WHITE WIRE - Trunk trigger (-).
Connect to an optional trunk pin switch that
shows ground when the trunk is open.
And this for the hood
• ORANGE/GRAY WIRE - Hood trigger (-).
Connect to an optional hood pin switch that
shows ground when the hood is open.
Does anybody have a idea of how i can hook them up to the alarm because there i'm lost ?

the wire for the trunk trigger is light blue. It is pin #7 in a white 30 pin plug at the fuse box under the driver's side dash. The wire for the hood is white and can be found 3 different places. #1 is at the hood switch. #2 is at the theft warning ecu which is behind the passenger's side glove box pin #4 in a white 36 pin plug. #3 is high behind the fuse box under the driver's side dash pin #16 in a 17 pin blue plug.

Is there another way of hooking it up to the trunk ?
For the hood i'll check it tomorrow

Unless a Yaris has a factory alarm, it doesn't have a hood switch.

You will have to add your own hood switch (like the kind that comes with remote starters).
For the trunk, the wire is a sky blue wire in pin 7 of connector 4A in the under dash fuse panel area:

So for the trunk i should just connect the orange and white wire with the sky blue that you mentioned and it should work right ?
And do you have a name or a reference of a switch that can be bought to add on the hood ?

If it's looking for a signal that goes to ground when the trunk in open then yes.

this is what they look like. It is small enough I should be able to mail one in a normal envelope depending on where you live.

That is what you need. I just went and looked under my hood. 2 options popped into my head right away. Where the back bolt holding the headlight in is on either side there is a hole in the metal. You could mount it there or at the front beside the rubber hood stops there are plastic thingies that mount the front bumper. You could remove one of those and mount it there. Either way you do it it needs to be mounted to metal. When the hood is closed the switch is open. When you open the hood the switch closes and touches the metal of the car sending a negative to your alarm.

Some place where it gets pressed when you close the hood. You typically have to drill a hole somewhere in metal to mount it (unless you can find an existing hole that it will fit in. The body of it has to be grounded, so it needs to be mounted to a hole without paint, or you can mount it and use a ring terminal and a piece of wire to ground it somewhere else.
