i went to install the AFE intake that arrived today and when i tightened down the mass airflow sensor it wasnt all the way in, it was semi tight but had slight play. i continued to tighten and now the bolts snapped inside the intake, what do i do.....:confused:

Did you try going to the dealer or a auto part store for a replacement? When you are screwing down the screws don't tighten up to tight or they'll snap again if you feel some play use some silicone like a small gasket good luck buddy

the threads that came out of the intake we were able to super glue back in. and then we got shorter screws and it fit like it should have with the parts i was supplied. little patience and innovation and its good as new.

I'm going to put in yet another request for shorter screws. hey OP, do you know the length and thread of the replacements you used?
If I have to, I'll provide them myself, this is ridiculous that AFE won't be more responsive.

just ordered one from MI a couple days ago! garm, does it come with shorter screws now?
and is this what was causing all of those people to get the cel light?

I bought one of these about 2 years ago. Worked fine and never had problems with the mass air sensor thing.

i think the reason is the screws, and the threads that the screws go into is barely attached to the plastic. Either fasten that screw a better way or make that damn pipe metal or something...
Had an issue with my maf as well but it wasntt anything that I had to customize.
Enjoy your intake I have this one and really like it.

How do you take your battery out with one of these on?
Just remove the heat shield.

yeah short ram intake if you werent sure. i got mine from mi probably a month ago now and i LOVE it! 1.5's right its definitely more fun. it sounds amazing.
the only problem i came across was the common one with the CEL. it came on a week after installing and then it would go on and off. it seems like every time i get to a fourth of a tank of gas it comes on but when i fill back up it goes off again.. hm idk. the price is very reasonable and worth it imo

yes i did
What if u removed the spacers, do u think that the cel would not show up anymore because u removed the spacers?

I know this is an old thread but has anyone zip tied the loose wiring?
loose wiring?
The only electrical aspect should be your MAF and it is a loom with a clip

you can see here in this picture i just have them dangling next to the intake and i'm wondering if i should zip tie them to the intake to make them secure

my bad 1.5
I see the maf but the wire loom coming out of it is behind the intake pipe so I cant see anything loose?

the wires next to the intake pipe is what i'm worried about. They just dangle there. Should i zip tie them to the intake pipe?
