I was looking back on yearbooks from the 1970's. I graduated from high school in 1974, and today I just cannot believe how people looked back then. All the hair! Afros, huge-assed beards...hair everywhere.

I just can't believe that was just how things were back then, and it was normal. I shave my head now and I wouldn't grow a beard if someone paid me these days. I've got a goatee and that's it. I even hate mustaches now.

The 80's were "hairy" too, but in the 70's everyone looked dirty, hairy, and just kinda greasy. And yes, I was a part of that crap. I'm embarrassed.

Thanks tomato. I was 13 when the first Woodstock happened. A couple of years older and I might have gone. That "now" video took me a little by surprise. Stephen Stills I did not even recognize for a second! Wow!

I'm glad I was a kid and had no idea what Woodstock was because had I been old enough, I might have followed the music anywhere and probably gotten in some trouble...

I hear the "Summer of love" in 69 in San Francisco wasn't all about peace and love, a lot of heavy drugs and chaos and basically a lot of lost kids everywhere.

There is an excellent documentary on PBS about the 60's and it does show the dark side of the 60's. Even freaking Charles Manson was hanging out in SF at the time.

here it is, I think

you can watch the ^ videos online

Sorry for the off topic  (although, it's not really off topic. If you watch these vids, I guarantee you'll see a lot of long hair!! ;)

yeah, that "now" video took me by surprise too. ;)

I've seen Crosby live and close-up on stage not long ago, but still that was a few years ago.

(he did that song "almost cut my hair" People seem to love that song for some reason ;)

Like when chest hair made you manly? lol

What are you talking about, nothing screams man like chest hair lol. I think a man trying to be hairless like a woman is a bit on the screwy side :barf: Although, there is definitely a limit to the hair

Chest hair I'd prefer to let be. I've had mine a long time and it doesn't bother me, and there's not such an amount as to be gorilla-like.

I remember Billy Gibbons (ZZ) saying it took him 3 years to grow that beard. At the time those beards were just wild and different (still are I guess). I always thought it hilarious that Frank Beard, the drummer, had no...beard.
