here is a sample found on the forum

I am talking about the "nut bushing" found on the left part of the picture (the bushing that move on the 14mm bolt)

the head of that bushing is ~19mm and jammed into the "frame cast" of the alternator

I cannot screw the 14mm bolt correctly to let the alternator in place securely

the bushing head is not fit correctly into the casting, in fact the "summit" 2 pan of 6 pan head is jammed into the casting

I did removed the alternator

I've try to screw the bolt and hit on it to let the bushing moving out.. no sucess

I've try a 19mm spanner and hit on it to bring it back to original position, no sucesss

this is soaked in loose nut for 3 days now...

I'm out of ressource

heating is not a good idea

hitting more is not a good idea

anyone can help ?
thanks

That "bushing" isn't removable. Just the shoulder bolt that goes through it is removable.

Were you able to get the bolt out?

main 14mm bolt ajustment is hard

last meccanic tried too much to adjust the alternator..this is the reason why the bushing is "turn in" inside the casting

no I am unable to remove bushing or make it move

I really need help !

OK - I was thoroughly confused until I just took a look to refresh my memory. That part is not designed to be replaced. I think I would either drill it out, or cut it out and then just use a longer bolt with a washer and a lock nut.

how about grinding the casting near pan of the bushing ?

Sure. The bottom line is either get it out of there or get it to let you pass a bolt through it. Another option would be to pull the alternator and weld it so it won't rotate.

if it came off like that, you should not modify it to reinstall.

if this is the same part you took off your car and you are trying to reinstall it..... YOU are doing something wrong

Many times you have to align the alternator PERFECTLY onto the bracket, and wiggle it a little at a time till the bolt holes line up

The bushing type piece is a separate piece that can wiggle, but should not rotate. In his case, it broke loose when trying to loosen the alternator, so now he can't tighten the bottom bolt.

if it's separated parts, can I remove it ?
somebody replied it can't be removed

right now, it now turning itself into the cast it HAS turn in, so now it's jammed in a way it can't act a moving bushing...

If its is jammed, and not freely rotating, then you should be OK. It just has the bit of wiggle to help with getting the bolt lined up.

problem solved !

I've treated with a chemical that remove rust and soaked that part, add somes oil and a bolt + impact tool on the bolt et voilą !!
