Anybody have those on your Yaris? I'm thinking about it. It's a toss-up between the Continentals, Kumho eco Solus KR22 & the Hankook H727
Looking for a quiet, soft ride, with maybe a little better fuel economy.

hankook...hahahaha....and even more funny is khumo.

any way, i've had the worst luck with those two brands over any othereven coopers or bridgestones. tehy wear funny, make noises after the first 5k miles, get hard as a rock if you light them up on the first shot...even if it's on accident on a wet road they're toast.

i'll be going with goodyear eagle GT's when i get tires...they're cheap, good reviews, and they're goodyears. they're not all-seasons (at least not the one's i'm looking at) but i live in SETX and if it snows then hell's freezing over. we deal more with water than anything. oh, it's got a 500 treadwear rating, a traction and a temp...doubt i'll ever need it.

another i was interested in was yokohama's tire. i forget the name but it's not a sport tire. it's an all season i think. about 70/ea and they had a deal at the time i was lookin at 3-brothers or whatever it is...buy 3 get 4th free.

Sorry to hear about those bad experiences, but tirerack seems to like the Kumho KR22, and rates the Hankook H727 #1 (100%) vs its competition.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Optimo+H727&partnum=86TR5H727

Granted, I didn't have the greatest luck with a set of Kumhos I purchased, long ago, but they still did better overall than the twice as expensive BF Goodrich tires they replaced.

Tires.com have a really good deal on the Hankook H727 $40+$50 rebate on the set of four there is also free shipping, I think I'm going with these, my current Falken 912 didn't last a shit.

I think this is a great deal, Check them out

Thanks.

I've never tried their tires before, but in the past I've had very good luck and was very impressed with ContiTech drive belts and timing belts/kits.

I'm about to pull the plug on those Hancooks. I drive 30K miles a year so I need something that will be all season for here in Wisconsin.

Anyone got personal experience with em?

p.s thanks for the link to discounttiredirect.com . Is that also a 50.00 mail in rebate on top of the 40.00? as in CASH / CHECK / CARD offer? If so that's slick!

Almost 50.00 per tire after all rebates if that is indeed correct.

also... new valve stems? Yes / no ?

I'm thinking no on the stems, because you should have sensors, unless they've been removed?

woah... ok stay FAR away from the discount tire credit card. Their TOS is just a disaster waiting to happen...... why in the #@$@ would they need my drivers license # to open an account, no thank you.

avoid! not worth the 50.00

Well, looks like it'll be the Goodyear Eagle LS

Woke up to a flat tire, so I bought one at the Goodyear center for an OTD price of $90.00 ...cheaper than what Wal-Mart wanted for the carry out price on a Viva 2

Looks a little different than the OEM Eagle LS, but probably has similar crappy characteristics with ride, noise and handling in bad weather...guess I'll buy 3 more in a week or two.

We just bought the Eco Plus for the 2010 3 door . 185/60-15T @ $89.91 each before tax . Hope to have them installed by mid APRIL or sooner , depending on the weather  . Will let you know if any increase in gas mileage , etc.. Transferring the Eagle LS to the '08 sedan on used rims w/ tpms from an '08 .

Just got the Eco Plus put on the 2010 3 door earlier today and these ride very well by soaking up most imperfections in the roads . Glide down hills ( slopes ) with ease . They seem much quieter too . This is with only 126 miles on them . Can't vouch for any increase in gas mileage as of yet . Even if there's no increase , these tires performance surpass the Potenza RE 92 and EAGLE LS for only $89.91 each ( w/o tax ) . Will update in poor weather conditions , today was sunny . About time .

I've already chosen Continental ProContact EcoPlus for when my OEM Goodyear Eagle LSs need replacement. I run Continental Extreme Winter Contacts in the winter and they're great.

I now have the ECOPLUS on my Yaris as of November 14th, and they are so quiet. So far so good!

Hancooks H727's on my daughter's Scion XA. I don't like the handling, they're squirmy initially on turn in. We bought Conti PC Eco Pluses on my wife's Corolla, and yes, I know the Corolla's no sports car, but isolating on the tires, I like the handling of the Pro Contact EP's. I think I can detect the decreased rolling resistance, although I haven't checked the gas mileage yet.

The Eco Plus could possibly be purchased for $58.11 each through GM parts department near you by matching the price of Tirebuyer's $83.11 along with free S&H ( http://tirebuyer.com/tirebuyerwicket/home/tab/Buy%20Tires/subtab/Shop%20by%20Vehicle/sortChanged/false/selPanel/tireDetailPanel/isListChanged/false/vfrontWidth/185/vfrontRatio/60/vfrontDiameter/15/selectedYear/2008/selectedMake/TOYOTA/selectedModel/YARIS/selectedTrim/S%20SEDAN/selectedFitment/P185*fs*60R15%2084T/tireCatalogView_selectedItem/442056/action/searchByTrim/page_0/2 ) and then a discount of $25 thanks to a rebate through GM ( http://www.mycertifiedservicerebates.com/pdf/GMN.pdf ) . It's possible that not all GM parts departments will match the internet price . Free shipping and handling are a must , because if they match the price and there's a S/H fee that will be tacked on to the price and then get the $25 discount ( $100 rebate for purchase of 4 tires ) . May want to call to see if they'll match internet price . It's possilbe there may be a better price than Tirebuyer with free shipping / handling . Saving you more money:burnrubber: . Good luck .

Sorry about your luck! Those no-seasons are crap. At least you shouldn't have to risk your life on any snow in OK.

They are great tires so far. My last tank was 55.3 mpg which tied my best tank last year. So they are getting better as they age, much like a fine wine.
Much better in wet handling, than the Goodyear Integrity that I replaced. Mpg seems to be very close to the Integrity.

I've had these tires on for about 11 months now and they are almost bald!

I wanted to post to update people on this tire who were still looking at it possibly. I bought a new set on 1/4/2012 and as of today have about 18k miles on them, about 50/50 on highway/city driving.

I had thought I would get more life out of these initially and was surprised to see them worn down to the tread bars already. I did some research and it turns out these tires have been wearing down on people rather quickly, they are rated for 80k miles but the latest reviews on continentals website show people barely getting 20k out of them.

I'm going to see if I can get a free replacement since continental has a 12m free replacement warranty.

I am happy with the tires when I got them, they have good wet and dry traction, they are also quiet as well. I thought a tire with "eco plus technology" would be longer lasting is all as they are marketed as economy tires so I was expecting 40k+.

We have the same issue . These tires are wearing very fast . Change them out for winter tires and rotate often . Don't buy these tires . They also get louder as they wear . The Bridgestone Ecopia 422s' are wearing much slower .

Comment on the Cont. ECOPLUS tires on my Yaris. I put them on at 55,000 with 10/32 tread depth. I now have 73,000 with 7/32 tread depth. At this rate they will be at 2/32 around 100,000 miles. So for me they are wearing as expected. I drive very little highway.
