there is a small gap where the e-brake goes into the middle console on my 2010 yarii sedan it eats change and lighters i tried taking the bolts off in the compartment but could not locate the missing objects. would the leather e-brake boot solve this problem and does the console have to come all the way off to install? is there any secondary clips or screws that allow the whole console to come off?

I don't know whether the hatchback's shifter console is identical to sedan's or not.

On my HB, there's only one screw in the cupholder behind the handbrake, and two clips under the center console.
To remove the clips, you just run your finger under the plastic trim on the side of the footwell, and lift up straight.
Do this on both sides.

Speaking of eating coins, I used to have that problem to.
A coin fell into my steering wheel and makes a clanking noise every time I turn. (That's what you get for paying tolls with coins )
Quite a hassle to get it out, but I don't want to get shot in the face by a coin when the airbag explodes.

Hopefully someone will answer your question who has hand the leather e-brake installed.

I have the same problem as yours and did pick up the leather e-brake from MicroImage because the rubber flap had torn off. Hopefully we both will get some answers either tomorrow or Sunday if not from a reply here.

Here's how the sedan console comes apart. The 3 pieces just pop off and then you have four screws.
