Anyone wiith experience with these tires? Pro's , Con's?

My car is not a DD so I don't care about bad weather. I'm using these for street racing only.

I will use a 225 x 40x 18, so any input from someone thats used them would be appreciated.

Haven't seen those on a car yet, but they look good.

What's the tread wear rating?

The NT05 is not a race tire, not even a top tier street tire. The Hankook RS3 and Dunlop Star Spec are better choices for a street tire to use on the track.

Last year we ran the Bridgestone RE-11, Dunlop Star Spec, Hankook RS3, Kumho XS, Nitto NT05, Toyo R1R and Yokohama AD08 all head to head. The Star Spec was the quickest on our test car, at a 46.1, the NT05 ran a 47 - that put it 5th out of the seven.

But if you are buying a tire for "street racing", whats quick is not important, just needs to look good when you are hard parking your hella flush ride.

Gotta do more than look good. Want one that grips and performs.

I am pretty well versed and have used most of the UHP, XHP, DOT race and slick tires on the market... But Ill be damned if I can't find one for street racing. :iono:

Which is why I figured I'd ask around from the racing guys around here. It's a pain in the ass to find a moreless dual purpose tire.

And those R888 are not cheap...........204.00 Ea. Toyo is proud of them.

Still looking around though.

Had considered the Federal 595RS-R but out of stock everywhere.

Seems to be the next big comp. Drift tire

No, still a street tire - all of the drift tires are real street tires, they don't allow DOT legal race tires.

If you want a competition tire:
Hoosier A6/R6
Goodyear Eagle RS
Kumho V710/V700
BFG G-force R1
Hankook Z214
Toyo R888/RA-1
Yokohama A048
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup
Pirelli TroFeo
Nitto NT01/NT555RII

Thanks for the line-up

So now my search starts to find which one is right for what I'm doing.

It least now I have a list to go by.
