Greetings to everyone,
I'm Cillian from Germany, and received a brand new Toyota Yaris 1,4D-4D Diesel last friday with some specials - lowering springs and Roofspoiler.
Here you get some pictures:

It's 90 HP and 205Nm torque with 6-speed-gearbox.
In 6th gear, I'm at 160 km / h at 3000 rpm ;)
It already ran 1000km this week, and I'm at 5.1 l / 100 km while driving most time 120-160 km / h

It's the german "life" version. I payed extra for winter tires on steels, the springs, spoiler and the extra armrest nothing more.
The silver door handles and the auto climate are stock in this version, as VRC is.

Nice car, love the high equiment level, especially the auto A/C. Keep us up to date on the consumption numbers, I'd love to see how a diesel works out in the long run.

To the OP - Nice car - I really wish we could get the D-4D over here.
As for that steering wheel, I bought one from another German member and mounted it on my 09 LB. I installed it minus the radio controls, as I would have had to change the airbag (or at least its cover) to use them.

Those are some nice pics, your car looks great!
I was just over in Germany two weeks ago, south of Munich (Garmisch-Partenkirchen) and saw a lot of Yarii but not many mod'd ones. Your is sharp!
Cheers! M2
A month ago I bought the same car from Greece with the 1.33 engine , It's the same car with different wheels !!!

It's not the same, you do not have the spoiler as I see :P And the diesel drives much better than the 1,33

yeah the diesel is driving better but also cost some more Euros :) and if you are not planning to travel 20-30K a year it's not worthy :)
Cillian

and if you are not planning to travel 20-30K a year it's not worthy :)
I calculated, that with 2000km/month I'd save ~100€/month with the Diesel, and ~40€/month with the 1,33 in comparison to the Corolla E12 Combi I had before - just saved by the lower fuel consumption.
So now I'm paying 105€/month for driving the Yaris plus 120€ Diesel per month, before I payed nothing for driving plus 210€ fuel per month.
The yearly tax for the Diesel is not much higher, 133€ for the Yaris, 94€ for the Corolla.
So I have a new car, and I'm not paying much more than I payed before ;)
henry33
11-02-2010, 09:16 AM
in this case yes you are right;) I was just pointing for example at me ;) I make max 10K a year maybe 15K so there is no need for me to buy a diesel it will cost me 4500 Euros more.
Are traveling also across Europe or just in Germany ?
Cillian

Germany, sometimes Austria and Italy for vacations, and every 2-4 years to spain.

If you pass Bratislava sometimes let me know ;)
My photos are a bit old !!! Now I have driving lamps rear roof spoiler , lowering springs and rear disc brakes from the TS version. I will update my photos soon.
Yes D4D is a bit better but in Greece there's a difference about 3500 euros , so....1,33 !!!

gas: the same I wanted to buy diesel but the price was huge so I have decided to buy 1.33 and I do not regret that ;)

I love my little 1.5 litre Yaris but would have gladly paid a premium for the diesel. I drive about 40000 km a year between Winnipeg and Calgary to the west and Thunder Bay to the east. Hell...even my cottage (get there almost every weekend) is 230 km away in Kenora...
the reason I mention this is that if ANY MARKET on the freaking planet needs a diesel its right here where the next town is 200 km away.:eyebulge:
I get 50 imp mpg on the highway but know the diesel could do better...
I am jealous.
I would like to hear what RPM the diesel is turning at 100 kph?

Umm, should be something around 1900 RPM in 6th gear.
In 5th Gear I think it's around 2200RPM, but I'll check that later tomorrow.
I really love the power of the small diesel. It's just an easy way of driving and the gearbox is much better than our Audi A3 (also in white of course ;) Next one will be a white Toyota Aygo next year for my mom)
Here you can follow my fuel consumption by the way:
http://www.spritmonitor.de/de/detailansicht/424969.html
Last one with 5,6l/100km was really fast driving, mostly within 5-10km. The consumption on long runs is way better!
Cillian
11-10-2010, 08:11 PM
So, I watched the RPM.
I'm between 1800 and 1900 RPM in 6th gear at 100km/h, around 2100RPM in 5th gear and 3000RPM at 4th gear
Cillian
03-14-2011, 06:08 PM
Btw., got now 13.000km on it, an ran it to max today.
I reached 205km/h - measured with satnav which is a little more than 4000RPM in 6th gear.
More would be possible, but I was scared because the tires are limited to 210km/h.
I think, 220km/h would be possible downhill.
Sorry - hard to explain, my english is not as good as it should be :D

I'm driving also an D-4D Yaris, but the 5 gear variant.
My Gas consumption is around 4,7L / 100km in mixed street conditions.
I've managed to hit a min. gas consumption of 4,3L / 100km (speed lim. 120km/h)
That means driving for over 900km without refueling.
So glad i've bought the diesel in 2007.

And I'm glad i bought it 2010, i like the 6th gear.
Driving between 160km/h and 200km/h is so nice in this car, feels like I'd be the king of the road :P
Today I did the 15.000s inspection, everything was fine, and it got new oil in it now ;)

The Diesel is gone after 3 and a half years with 120.000km of driving pleasure. It's been replaced by this:
