Hi, so i want to share you my project for my Sound System Upgrade in my 2009 Yaris Sedan!
I won't do it fast so it will take time but as soon as I get my stuff bought and installed I'll post picture.
I've bought my big three I just have to wire it in my car...maybe this week end
I will get my tweeter + Xover from , an EQ-6500 and 2 pionneer premiere 6.5'' from Derick...THANKS to him!
http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa471/Antho_Paquette/tweeterxover.jpg
Here is my HU....it's a Kenwood MP-345U ...it has only one rca output...this is why i'm going to use an equalizer
http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa471/Antho_Paquette/Kenwood-KDC-MP345U-In-Dash-CD-MP3-WMA-iPod-Receiver-with-USB-Aux-Input.jpg
I plan on installing 2 subwoofer in the trunk I'm open to suggestions for it...I had planned on 2 x Alpine Type-R which has 500W rms...hmmmm 1000W rms in the trunk  And for the amp....I have no idea of which one i'll get!
I will also amplify my 6.5'' , my tweeter and my 6x9'' with a 4x65 watts amps...I will probabby mount my tweeter in my a-pillar with fiber glass....I'LL TRY

Thanks do Derick for all his help
I'm planning to get two of them
they have 400Wrms each and 1400peak...dual voicecoil 4ohm
http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa471/Antho_Paquette/tsw308d4.jpg
I'll choose the appropriate amps for them...then i'll look at an amp for the front speaker +tweeter.....and the back 6x9''speaker will wait...
And for the power...I don't know what to choose...I WILL DO MY MY BIG THREE THIS WEEK
capacitor in the trunk for the sub amp...
or
New battery in the hood
or
Keep the stock battery in the hood and a kinectic 1800 in the trunk
Suggestion ?

You are welcome,
Big 3 it's a must!
you don't need a capacitor, I'm not a fan either
I don't think you would need a 2nd battery, my HU with 3 amps was reading 13.4 v during commute and I only have the Big 3
get all in your car and check the voltage.

Okay, this is going to sound like I'm being a troll. most of the people who have seen my work know it's otherwise.
Get that long wire run hidden! Don't run it across your engine. Try to keep it away from the hottest parts of the engine as well as the pulleys and belts. Take a look at my engine bay shots. THAT is clean. I'm only saying this to drive you to be better.

You going to purchase a prefabricated box ? You may save more money just getting a custom box built if you know anybody with the knowledge and skill to build one. Unless you have the tools yourself. I'm pretty sure if you posted the specs of your speakers, somebody could put together some measurements and port lengths , as a matter of fact a simple google search can send you in the right direction on what to look for as far as calculating what size box you need. That way if you're gonna buy a prefabed box you'll know what kind of sound to expect out of it.
Good luck with finding a new one.

Actually no...
We're talking subs in this discussion. Legatia L8's are mid bass speakers. I've got something else in mind that would RAWK your socks off...and it's probably the beefiest 8" woofer you've ever seen.
I know that it's the loudest 8" I've ever heard.
We had two teenagers audition them the other week and they commented "what do you have in the back? Two 12's?"
It was great, we didn't even answer, we smiled and said, take a look at this. They walked back and you really should have paid admission for the look they gave! They actually tried to call bull$hit, thinking we were hiding another sub somewhere.
Needless to say, we put the same sub with the enclosure in their hatch and it was sold right then and there. The sweet thing is that the 8" even in the vented enclosure is really small. I could stack 4 if not 6 of them in my trunk and pull upwards of 150 dB if not higher with my limited power (900 Watts). I can tell you that they don't sound as good as my ML3800 but damn they're loud!
Derick, what package are you talking about?

But,... aren't you going to tell us what 8" sub is that?
I remember 10 years ago, I did a bandpass box with a 8" Pioneer subwoofer... I took it to the car-audio store where I got the woofer and they bought the box and woofer back from me, just because it was so good (loud) and they wanted to show it in their audio room.

i ve made the clips removed at my toyota dealer as i went there for an oil change.....
i've installed the pionner 6.5'' in the door
i'Ve attached the tweeter to the door near the 6.5'' as you told me....
yesterday was a sad day.....come one drove on a red light and hurt my car.....i dont have front bumper anymore...my car went to the toyota dealer today...ill get it back soon ! I HOPE
About the sound it gives .....wellll its not as good as i tought......the 6.5'' sound great until I reach 25/35 of volume.....ans they are not amplified.....they are wired to the stock wire....with the 12db crossover....
they kind of make unpleasant noise...scratching noise ....the tweeter also make it...but not as much.....
maybe its because of the door box...or no thing deadended....or the stock wire.....

I'm running 87 watts rms to my Hifonics components, and they sound okay, I'm fixin to add some cheap NB 1 tweeters to catch the high hats and some of the other higher frequency sound on the music, to help even out the hi's. Them lil cheap things are 97 db sensitivity so i can get away with just running them off the deck power. Check on Amazon for a 4 channel amp, i got mine for under 100 bucks, but i'm also going with an Okay brand, not top of the line stuff like Sqcomp and Derick. My amp is a Crunch 1400.4 I went with Maxxsonics amps. I also have a 1200 Brutus for the subs. Maxxsonics also makes Mb Quart, which is the top of the line brand for Maxxsonics. They also manufactured the Autotek brand as well. I want to go on ahead and just grab the 2000 watt brutus, but i don't think i can provide the power to feed that amp. Once i can stay around 14.4 Volts, then i'll consider the bigger amp.

I would install the eq6500 under the steering wheel or inside the glove compartment.
Since you all ready have a Hifonics you could get a HFi100.2 and run passive 100x2 into the 6.5 + Tweeters Passive means that you are going to use the x-over between the amp and the speakers.
HFi100.2 LINK (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22698_Hifonics-HFi100.2-HFi-100.2.html)
http://i.seimg.net/images/380847/main/hfi1002.jpg
You could still run passive with a 3 way system with a x-over and not breaking the bank going Active, and still use only 2 amps 1 for the sub and 1 for the speakers (Mid-bass 6.5", 3" mids, tweeters)
Then if you really want to go 3 way active, it's a complete different story.

whats the difference between active and passive ? :S
Passive is when you run x-overs like the ones you have, and they go between amp and speakers.
Active is when the x-overs go before the amps.
Note that an active x-over is much more sophisticated than a passive x-over!
I hope it helps

To expand on what Derick is saying...
Electronic Crossover:
A crossover is a filter. It is used to block some frequencies while allowing others to pass with little or no effect. An electronic crossover is a set of active filters which pass/reject part of the audio band. The crossover point is determined by changing the value of resistors and/or capacitors in the active filter circuit. A high pass crossover will allow frequencies above a predetermined point to pass. The frequencies below the crossover point will rolloff at a rate determined by the crossover's design. A low pass crossover would let low frequencies pass while reducing the level of the high frequency part of the signal. The signal from the head unit feeds the crossover. The signal leaving the crossover goes to an amplifier. If the high pass output is connected to an amplifier, that amplifier would be connected to smaller speakers which may include tweeters. A low pass xover would drive an amp connected to larger speakers, including woofers.
Passive Crossovers:
A passive crossover has no active filters as are used in the electronic crossover. It uses coils (inductors) and capacitors to cause a rolloff of the audio level. The simplest types use a single coil OR capacitor connected in series with the speaker. If a capacitor is used, it will reduce the lower frequencies getting through to the speaker. If an inductor is used, it will reduce the higher frequencies getting through to the speaker. In this configuration, the rate of rolloff is 6dB/octave. In a more complex configuration combining both coils and capacitors on each speaker, a steeper rolloff is obtainable.

So you got active....?
Your activee x-over are in your HU i guess ?
Does it give a way better sound with active ?
Could I use the same speaker Derick have (HL-70 HAT L1V2 and L6) with passive ?
The type of amp is changing depending on passive or active ?

Yes, our sources have the crossover control in the deck. The sound received is subjective. You can mess up your sound just as much as you can improve it with an active crossover section.
Of course you can use a passive setup with any type of speakers (for the most part). What I wouldn't do is just slap a random passive in there. With a homogenized mix of speakers, you're going to have to find your own values for what crossover points you want and then make it for the best results.
Now, for the cost and time savings, you can pick up an active crossover and avoid the hassle and gain more flexibility.
Your amplifier choice shouldn't affect the crossover...however, a lot of amplifiers have more advanced crossovers now days. That's also something to look at...an amplifier that has a nice crossover section to mess around with.

I say buy a decent deck and buy into an RF360.3 or a Bit One. There's a new Bit One coming out that is a smaller version with a few less bells and whistles than the full sized piece. It'll save some cash too.
Alpine, Arc Audio, and Mosconi have some nice processors as well.

Alpine also is coming out with a processor that is along the same lines as the above.
What do I consider a decent deck? *meh* It depends. An entry level perhaps one of the JVC pieces that have the dual 24 bit D/A's.

There somethings I want to know just to help me understand the whole thing....about active..passive....3-way component...
I can seee on those active x-over you linked me that there is 3 rca output....rear front and sub....rear would be for mid bass and front for tweeter and midrange....but what willl allow HIGH to tweeter and mid-high to midrange speaker....
Would my EQ-6500 act as an active cross over....I have those 3 rca output...rear front sub...

The payoff with the deck that is "$1500" (actually less than that) is that you have less links in the signal chain and you don't have to leave your seat or use a laptop to adjust anything.

Probably the same as derick. The only thing I got over the American version is the little amplifier...and Japanese sub menus.
I forecast in a couple years I'll sell the piece and buy into a more advanced processing system. It'd be a long shot to get my hands on a JK Labs type piece.
I know tha SB's processing power is something like 300 dB sloped and a completely infinite parametric equalizer system with a very advanced time alignment process. I'd LOVE to gave the headache of setting that one.

P-99s are around $1200
What I think you would like is:
HU to EQ6500
EQ6500 has 3 rca outputs
. for Sub-Woofer (you all ready have an amp for this)
. (get a 4 channel amp) and you could have
Chanels 1 = a passive x-over with 3" or 4" Mids + tweeter
Channel 2 = 6.5" (Mid-bass) in doors (you can use the built in x-over in the amp)

Anyway, one word of warning, With the ebay purchases...watch yourself. Woofersetc isn't an authorized retailer for Elettromedia. 9 month warranty? Seriously? That's an in house trick. You won't be getting factory support if something goes wrong.

There are two camps to the buying idea. I'm on one side which supports brick and mortar stores.
PM me your address. I think I can match that woofersetc ebay price on the HSK 163 set and get it to you for basically the same price overall. That way you'd have a real factory warranty for the same price as the rip off woofersetc 9 month in house (non authorized) "warranty".
I'm thinking that the second set is an older set. That's an attractive price as I'm seeing it for the two way. It's old however...

FYI! I don't know of anyone personally that has ordered Hertz from Woofers Etc. but according to Electromedia USA (Hertz/Audison) Woofers Etc. doesn't even have any Hertz speakers at all. Period. They wanted to be a dealer and Hertz refused to sell to them and they got mad. They still advertise that they have it but when you order ut they (bait and switch) you. They do however have some older Audison amps they acquired from a dealer who went out of business. Hertz/Audison refuses to warranty ANYTHING that comes from them.

@Palmer...
That is EXACTLY what my shop owner said! Bait and switch.
@Derick:
Check your grounds carefully. In order for the amps to function properly, the audio ground must be referenced to chassis ground at the source unit. If it is not, the amplifier could oscillate. To check for a good ground reference, take a volt-ohm meter (VOM) and measure the resistance between the chassis of the radio and the shield of the RCA line level outputs of the radio. This reading should indicate a direct short. If this is not the case, grounding the shield of the RCA line level outputs to the chassis of the radio will probably be necessary. Keep amplifier power ground wires as short as possible. The longer a wire, the more resistance it has. When a current flows through a resistance, a voltage drop is produced. Because of this, the ground reference at the amplifier's circuit board is no longer the same as that at the chassis of the vehicle. This ground potential differential can lead to noise and improper operation of the amp. (-W.H.)
I'll show Jim this if we can't solve this soon.
