what do you mean cranking noise? What exactly does the noise sound like? Where exactly do you think it is coming from? Does it always make this noise, or only in certain situations?

I change oil at the toyota dealer and I guess they use 10w-30 lexus oil.
as for the noise im sure it comes from the engine it only makes the noise after driving long distance in traffic and i guess it sounds like cracking as if the oil is getting thinner. plz advise

I don't think it's the oil, my Yaris uses 5w-30 but 10w-30 would be fine also. As for the the cranking noise does it sound like the starter is trying to engage, seems like someone here had that problem ( there Yaris had the manual tranny )? Here's a few idea's, serpentine belt, idler pulley.
