So, I finally ordered one of Garm's great delrin shift-knobs, to replace the one that "went down with the ship" on my last Yaris.
Arrived in the mail, and it was bee-yutiful.
Problem, though.... the depth of the thread is fine for an '07/'08 Yaris, but they changed the shaft for the '09 apparently. About a 3/4" space left when the knob is screwed right down, and the hard "skirt" at the top of the boot needs to be addressed.
To cut a long story short, the pic attached shows the spacer that had to be built - this one is from a scrap of Osage Orange wood that I had left over from a bowl I turned a while ago. I'm quite pleased with it, as it adds a touch of color to an otherwise grey and black interior.
