I posted this on MI too, but i wanted to get some more thoughts on it, anyway...

So i am sure some of you are familiar with the concept of a rear mount turbo... i was thinking about it the other day and wondered if it would be viable on a small engine like the 1nz.

Obviously this would not be a build intended for massive power...

So I was thinking a small turbo (something along the lines of a CT12) mounted in place of the rear muffler (near the rear axel)

One advantage would be that if the turbo replaces the axel muffler, it will be stealth as fuck (basically nothing in the engine bay to make you think its not stock)

My concerns are that the turbo wont be able to spool because the engine is so small, i have only ever seen this successfully done on 3lt + engines.

so, am I crazy?

it will work on any size motor ,if properly sized.
