caught my g/f looking for christmas gifts for me and found she was looking at the APEXi neo for me.. i did some research on this and it looks pretty solid. i like that it can be mounted in the car and i can play with numbers while im driving.. but i originally had my eye on the AEM FIC..

the question is.. whats the selling point for me to get the AEM instead of APEXi.. the neo isnt a piggyback is it? it seems like its a standalone like the AEM. anywho. all input is greatly appriciated on this. help me decided if the G/F is on to something or she is just looking at name brands.. thanks

apexi is an OBDII tool and can modify very limited parameters. It's a nice unit given its limitations. You wouldn't tune on the dyno with it, for example.

the FI/C is a full piggyback management system, must be wired in and tuned either on the dyno or on the street with a full complement of gauges (air/fuel being the most important).

hey buddy

that Apexi Neo doesnt use ODB2 , it plugs into the harness of the ECU , can do AFR settings etc , also sets vtec of honda's

you know thats what i was thinking also.. i also have a crx with a b20/vtec.. i may get it for that. ive been tuning it with a chip in a p28. chips sux.. crx was my first car i started messing with and with any first car at a young age. i was 16 back in 1999. and not a lot of knowledge i started just throwing whatever at it not knowing the RIGHT way of doing it. just what i read in forums and magazines. so the crx has been a real learning experience and now i know where i went wrong. still a good car but ive done so much modifications to that crx that i would have to spend a crap load to get it looking clean again.. i may turn it into a chump car for lemon races or chump car races..
the yaris is my new fresh start. gonna do this the right way..
