Ok people I got a set of wheels that is gonna be on my Yaris next summer and I want them sand blasted and powder coated.
I talked to a guy from a shop and this is what is gonna run me.
Sandblasted: $120 for all 4 wheels
Powdercoated: $60 per wheel
So my total is $360
I will keep looking and asking shops but $360 imo is
HIGH, I might find some new white wheels for that price don't you think?

I need suggestions and what you think
Thanks for any help

coaters down here in SETX are charging our bmw dealership 125/wheel...total. so, take it or leave it...you got a good deal goin there.

to me, i'd take my wheels to a performance shop, ask the lowest paid guy to blast them durning his lunch for 75, get them back from him and coat them myself. if you go to sears you can get powder for like 10 bux a package...and i can't see it being more than 2 packages for wheels unless you're just spraying around instead of on the wheels...find an old oven you arent using, set it to 375 and put them in there for about 4 hours.

save like 250 bux, maybe start your own business...or, take off your valve cover and coat it, take the alternator off and pull it apart and coat the shell, water pump, shifter and knob, springs, strut braces, under-body bracing and who knows what else...

That's about right, why most people sand and spraypaint.

So that would be a good price?

It's a fair price, yes. Sometimes you can find locals on Craigslist looking for work as well who will do it cheaper. But just keep in mind, like anything, they need to know what they're doing. There are different "weights" (grades, strengths, etc..) of sand and certain sands will damage aluminum wheels.

And just to put it in perspective - to sandblast my wheels MYSELF, cost me about $120 in supplies. (Aircraft coating remover and sand.) They were already powdercoated before and that's why, but still..

In Hamilton, Ontario, Canada a wheel specialty shop known for wheel repairs and re-finishing through out a figure of CA$120.00 per wheel for refinishing only and suggested that I could buy new from them for a similar cost.
