anyone into rc cars....from the 90's...pls step in

yes, i'm going through a mid life crisis and i'm looking for a particular RC car.

it was a 9.6v setup, had tank trax for wheels/tires, and both sticks were forward/reverse...not one up/down and one L/R. mine was green, but i'm sure they were in other colors.

it was the best RC car i ever had, and it was the most fun seeing as how it could go over everything, could do circles since left side could go forward or reverse, and right side could go forward or reverse.

my kids all have some 6v RC cars, and it would be awesome to be able to play with them and show them tricks and stuff. it would be even better if it was a nitro car...but those are expensive. any way, i'm looking for something similar, or the actual thing, and i prefer electric over nitro but either will do.

ok, through some research and many many webpages of thumbing through...i found the actual maker and name.

it was a Tyco Fast Traxx. i had the car version...and it was awesome. has there been a revision/update to the car? a bigger version? a gas version?

I don't think there has been. There was a super fast traxx, but it was bigger and had a 7.2v battery i believe.

There are tons of videos of the fast traxx on youtube!

yeah i saw. that's awesome. there's a fast traxx on ebay now for like 75 bux...i thought about it. but, i'd have to re-wind the motor windings for higher output, find a lithium battery pack or even a NiHM pack. i'd like to upgrade the drive system too. the older system used a on/off setup so when it's on it's on...not analog i suppose.

any way...maybe i should just get one of those build your own kits and build it...????
