Since it was such a beautiful day up here in NY state, I decided to finally give my Yaris a proper wax job.

It is going on a year and a half old an all I have done up to now is use a spay and wipe type wax a few times after washing.
However, this is obviously just a poor substitute for a proper wax.

I used some Meguiars "Gold Class carnuba plus" I had on hand, I like this wax mainly becaue it easy to apply and wipe off.
It shines great also.

For the wheels, I simply used the Eagle 1 "Wax AS-U-DRY" I also had on hand.
It makes quick and easy work out of cleaning /shining the wheels as you just spray on and wipe off.
I also found it useful for cleaning up the engine compartment quickly.

Finally, I cleaned the windows with Stoner's "Invisible Glass"
BTW, I found that using a glass cleaner on the flat black areas by the doors keep these ares looking good without adding shine.

Thanks.
It's amazing how easy the steelies are to clean up using the spray wax.

All cleaned up and ready for the winter weather... which is probably right around the corner. Looks very nice. Yes, the steel wheels with trim rings and centre caps are so much better than the hubcaps.

Hey RedRide,
Where did you pick up the chrome rings that go on the outside of the wheels? I'd like to get some for mine and paint them red. Is that something you can pick up at an autozone or are they special for our wheels?

Hey RedRide,

I got mine on eBay. They are top quality and I extremelly happy with them. It's an excellent vendor also.

It was recomeded to me that ABS chrome was the way to go and I totally agree.
ABS will not bend, dent and/or rattle etc and they have a very solid appearence.
Whatever you decide to get, be sure they have a rated depth of 1.75 inches to fit the stock steelies

BTW can I make a suggestion? Instead of painting the rings red, what about leaving then chrome and painting center caps red instead?
I have been toying with the idea of painting my center caps to match my carmine red body color.
The rings are beautifully chromed and it would be a shame to paint them, IMO

Thanks for that, its probably a good idea to put them on and see how they look as chrome on and decide then if I want to paint them or not. :)
